RID Universe is finally more or less done (just needs some minor detail touchups).


Next up: Armada Universe

I'll be tweaking some things like the perspective on the Minicon insignia base, but everything else will be very similar to what is already sketched. Initial inks will be up Christmas-New year break (12/25/06-1/1/07). *I will have an update this Friday-Saturday( 12/29-30).*

Just a small minicon update. I'll have more Armadaverse pics in the next2-3 days, starting with the Con' side first.

I'm too oriented around instant gratification -- a week is too long to spend on one piece, from my POV. I need to learn to be more patient. This is looking great so far, can't wait to see more updates!

Glad you like it, Wingman. So far, I would only say that 60% is done as I still have the BW, BM universes, along with a huge Unicron to still draw and ink. I'm doing my best to aim for this summer for completion as the last 2 universes are not as detail heavy as the Energon or Armada-verse characters.

Nice to hear from you again too, Dissever. Actually, in my first few months of med school, I haven't had the opportunity to work as much I would have liked on the poster, but i'm getting there since my current schedule is somewhat more conducive to doing artwork.

Yes yes I am.. He's been working on it for a while now and so far I'm liking how he's doing the armada section. Now what will really blow your mind is that eventually this will become a full back tat. most of the fine details will have to go but that's why I'm getting the poster so that I can hang it up.

Just have been pretty busy the last 2 weeks or so w/o an actual update (there's inks, but I tend to post when I've accomplished at least 1 character at a time).

As for colors, it's doubtful, considering my med school + master's degree schedule. Plus, my eyes would hurt like crazy. X/

This is pretty inspiring, man. Thinkin' 'bout using a piece of posterboard I got laying around for a big picture m'self.

Oh man that sucks. I have some relatives in a similar field and I could only imagine the hours studying for med school.

Is this on just some regular posterboard like I could get at Wal-Mart, or something fancy?

What's it mounted on for drawing on? A wall or something?

For this piece, I purchased the posterboard from one of those large specialty wholesale art/crafts store (e.g. Pearl Paint). From there, I basically chose the second biggest flexible precut they had since I needed one that could be rolled into a mailing tube. So, nothing too fancy and I guess you can find something similar at Walmart (the paper's not too thick--just slightly thicker than oaktag, for comparison).

As for when I'm drawing, indeed I do mount it on my wall. My table is not big enough to ink so well. X/

Huh. Not sure if I could draw on a surface that's totally vertical....May give it a shot.

Just a small update, been awhile since I put ink to paper or drawing for that matter.

Next update expected to come around early March '08. I anticipate working on and *hopefully* finishing this poster by the time I graduate from med school.
