I'd been searching the net for the Allspark-famous story "The Mackingest Hooptie I Ever Did See" and have yet to come across it. The only thing I really find is a dead link in the Best Allspark Quotes of 2008 thread (why isn't there one of those for 2012?)
Could someone please repost the story in this thread so it can be archived and searched for in the future?

So this nifty movie came out last weekend and I can't believe any of you aren't talking about it!
Premise is that 30 years from the present (2044) Time travel is invented, but highly illegal, so it's primarilly used by the mobs to get rid of someone evidence-free by sending them back to a time where they "shouldn't exist". There, they encounter "Loopers" whose job it is to kill the hooded person, collect the attached fee, and dispose of the body. Joseph Gordon Levitt's character is one such Looper and runs into trouble when he fails to kill one man, who just so happens to be his future self (Bruce Willis). So now the present day Mob is after both to put the kibosh on as much future altering as possible before things get too out of hand! This is a very interesting premise (that, like the trailers, doesn't scratch the full breadth of the plot) that is carried very well with the strength of its actors, especially this little kid who steals practically every scene he's in and Acts most of the adults under the table! I've been hearing that some people have a hard time wrapping their heads around the Time Travel shenanigans in the movie, but I found them basic sci-fi stuff that never took me out of the movie, even leading to some truly interesting visuals when played with the consequences of altering the future. EDIT: Do be mindful of spoilers and please tag them as such!

How close to 100% can you get!?

Alright, so a handful of years ago, a friend bought a complete Transformers the Movie ('86) Sountrack. It had The full score and Vince DiCola's Legacy thrown in for good measure. There was a second CD in the set that contained the vocal songs from the movie, including Stan Bush's Ground Zero, the new versions of Dare and The Touch for Botcon '97, even some of the Live performances from said botcon. Live Legacy also.
Now, the copies he made for me weren't complete, and unfortunately he was killed in a car crash that also damaged the original copies of the disks. I've done some research and as best I can tell this is some weird amalgamation bootleg as I can't seem to find info on it anywhere as a singular unit. I've seen the Score and Stan Bush stuff from Til All Are One, even some errant recordings of the live stuff simply called "Botcon '97 The Concert" (I am unsure if this was ever genuinely released). I've also stumbled onto a set of DiCola's soundtrack stuff, but it doesn't seem organized in the "chronological order" the way the Botcon and this bootleg were. It also has a weird cover (the case itself was recovered from the vehicle mostly undamaged) that was mostly black with a white outlined Unicron menacing over...I want to say Rodimus (I haven't seen the cover itself in a year or so, so I don't remember precisely). Anyone know what the hell this thing is? EDIT: For those wondering, the accident was many years ago, and I'm not some sick bastard worrying about a soundtrack when my friend just died.

So my PS3 wiped itself today. I lost a whole bunch of save data and Multiplayer advancement.
Anyone know a good way to try going about recovering that stuff? Should I avoid starting stuff over and just leave as is? My brother's happy the trophies are still intact, but that means less than nothing to me without game saves that I can access when I need to. All of the unlocks in Mass Effect 3 Online seem to be gone as well (even the stuff I payed for with money, that can't be re-downloaded, lesson learned). I'm so furious I can't see straight! |
