Hi Everyone, I'm sending out a warning to everyone, after something that just happened to me on the Tformers website. It may show up on other sites as well. I was browsing though an image gallery there, when the screen greyed out, and I received a warning that I had to update to the latest available Flash Player, to continue. It then took me to a page where it attempted to auto-download just that. DO NOT, let that happen. The warning is a complete and total fake, and God only knows what kind of hideous virus the thing was trying to download onto my machine. I knew it was fake, because you don't need Flash to view a gallery of still pictures. Not on Tformers, at any rate. Besides which, updates are never, ever handled though a web browser. Users are always notified though a macro that's installed in Windows itself, when you first load the program on your hard-drive. So if it happens to you, the best thing to do is hit the back button, on your browser, and "Leave the Page" icon, if absolutely necessary. That will cancel the auto download, and save your system. Greetings everyone,
I just had what I think is one of my really brilliant ideas, concerning Hasbro's Fan Built bot poll. The idea is so good, that I felt it would be better, to create a separate topic for it, because this is something I truly do believe in. Over the past three years or so, there have been a series of really awful tragedies. The earthquake in Japan, Superstorm Sandy, and now the explosion in Texas, to name a few. My idea, is to create a new, rescue-themed transformer, in memory of them all. Someone who loves humans so much that he's dedicated his life, to trying to save as many of them, as one bot can. He would need an alt-mode capable of getting anywhere, in a hurry, and capable of both search and rescue, as well as serving as an mobile infirmary or disaster command post. Off the top of my head, the best match for those characteristics, would be a Cybertronian with an aerial based alt mode. A jet or spaceship would be best, but I'm not counting out a supersonic helicopter. Personally, I'd like to name him Thunderbird, after the super-hi-tech rescue team created Gerry Anderson. But that's just me. I'm open to any and all serious suggestions. Steampunk Astrotrain

Hi Everyone,
I found a Classics Optimus- Megatron battle pack in T.J. Max, and inspired by a review of United Tank Megatron, over on TFormers, got me thinking. Would it be that hard to kitbash Megs from that set, into a Reverse Convoy hommage? Obviously, I can't duplicate the head swapping gimmick, but I'm not even sure it would transform right, if I gave it Optimus' head from the same set. Steampunk Astrotrain

I just bought DOTM Skyhammer, and it's led me to seriously ponder something. While I utterly love the idea that Optimus Prime personally gave him a sword, word on-line is that the Mechtech weapon's locking mechanism is pretty fragile. So I'm honnestly thinking of tossing it in a bin, and replacing it with the Dark Matter Calibur minicons. The sword's certainly big enough, and the colors should be a descent match. While BBTS has them pretty cheap, it's still going to need their Pile of Loot, and a couple of months to collect all three. So I'd love it if someone could actually snap me a couple of photos of Skyhammer with the combined sword mode, because I really can't afford to spend $24 and shipping, only to find out the DOTM Voyager and the Mincon team don't play well together, at all. I finally caved and bought Prime Wheeljack, last week, and nearly had my jaw drop, when it rang up at $15 and change? While I realize, the economy is hitting Hasbro as bad as everyone, to me, this seems a counter-intuitive move, especially with a combiner in the pipeline. As it is, my budget is so tight that I've only been able to afford the occasional Deluxe figure. (Wheeljack is only my second). Now with the hike in price, I face the very real prospect of having to cross Bruticus/Runiation off my list as well, because I'd need three or four months, to get everyone. And that's assuming nothing else really good shows up, in the meantime. Something I know already isn't gonna happen. Literally, the three dollar hike in price means I'd have to invest $75 in the full combiner, rather than $60. That extra $15, may very well be a deal breaker. If I could barely afford buying five, $12 Deluxes, while the wave is on store shelves, then how on God's green Earth am I supposed to now, cough up three dollars more, for each of them, within the same time period, and ever hope to collect the whole set? I realize this is a little incoherent; I'm not feeling good, and this whole thing has really upset me. SteamPunk Astrotrain |
