So like most modern gamers, I'm sure that most of us Allsparkers have started to accumulate a pile of unbeaten, even unopened, games over the years. I know I'll joke about having such a "pile of shame" but ultimately do nothing to truly resolve the issue, however that can change now.
Why not commit to clearing a mere four games in the month of February? Who knows, that mere four can be the initative to proactively clear out the rest of your backlog. Gaming is way too expensive a hobby to continually collect unplayed game. I'm shamelessly stealing this idea from the Facebook page linked by Kotaku since I find it to be a genuinely great idea. My suggestion for ground rules is to list four games, and maybe explain why those specific titles. Try not to rattle off an entire extensive list since you'll probably make it feel too overwhelming. Beyond that, any rules should be self-prescribed, whether you want to focus on specific genres, systems or unopened games vs. unbeaten games. Feel free to report your progress in this thread, make the month collaborative! I'll go first with my four. Final Fantasy XIII-2 (XBOX360): I've actually started this title already, but I haven't touched it in over a year after playing a mere five hours. This game was bought new and at full price after I finished XIII a few months prior. I had been really looking forward to this game, but somehow it fell into the cracks and never came back. 3D Dot Game Hero (PS3): It's been so long since I played this game that I might as well start over. I really like the game's aesthetic and the old school Zelda/adventure but this is another one that fell into cracks. Metal Gear Solid (PSX)/Metal Gear Solid 2 (HD collection PS3): I'm cheating with this combination, but I feel it's connected since I literally bought the entire Metal Gear Solid collection at once despite never playing any game in it prior. Beating Metal Gear Solid, which I'm on the second disc in, and merely starting Metal Gear Solid 2 will really start the ball going on an entire mini pile. Space Marine (XBOX360): This is the only legitimately unplayed game in my four, and it has a weird niche. Space Marine is a game I neither paid for, nor a title generally in my sphere of interest. I won it free from a Destuctoid Live panel at Magfest last year and want to give it a fair shake before potentially trading it in.

Imagine my surprise yesterday when I randomly walked into a Five Below and greeting me was a wheelbarrow full of RtS Scouts including plentiful Windchargers for only $5! I had briefly considered becoming the local Windcharger Baron, but my better nature is forcing me to spread the wealth. So check your local Five Below where they probably still have $3 RtS legends too.

So after going through my collection recently, I discovered that I had previously modded my beast machine tankor some time during the past decade. Since he's already effectively a "junker", I've decided I'll go all the way and practice using the airbrush I bought recently to repaint him.
My two ideas are "redeemed" Rhinox or BM-era Shockwave. I made some crude photoshops, emphasis crude on shockwave. thoughts? So I have the complete BotCon 2011 exclusives available to sell; the box set never removed from packaging, and Fisitron/Ironfist and the Souvenir sets sealed in bag still. I'm looking to off load them all, but I will only sell them together as a lot, so no piecemeal Shatter Glass or Ironfist request please. The certificate of Authenticity and comic are both included naturally.
The "first day" pin and Kre-o exclusive are optional extras. Shoot me a PM or email, all reasonable offers will be considered, but I will put it on eBay by midnight EST or tuesday otherwise. Tom |
