I'm just a casual toy collector. whatever i like or whatever looks cool is what i tend to go for. i check this site out mostly for the laughs because people post hilarious stuff.
Besides drawing, i'm a Apache Longbow pilot and boxer in the Army. i focus primarily on music and fighting (in the ring, no more street fights starting today). Anything from Marilyn Manson to G Unit. But as far as drawing goes, i'm more into sequential comic book art. i have tons of full story arc comics done. my own personal characters and stuff. i'm working on my webpage to get it all up so people can comment and crit. i'm also a shy guy who likes big booty on ladies. hope i can say that without getting in trouble. i have all these toys laying around and decided to break out the camera and create some stories. first of all, i'm the first person to agree with the fact toy scale is a wonky and futile effort. I can't even recall how the cartoon dealed with mass shifting or whatnot, but i'm working on a picfic and the whole scale concept sorta intrigued me.
anyway, i'm currently have the both the MEGA SCF prime and megs figures as well as the revoltech prime and megs figure. when i stand these guys next to most basics thru scouts class figures, it's a fairly close match in terms of what i remembered from the cartoon. I understand Prime towered over most his team in the cartoon, thus establishing a larger presence or whatever. but once you move up a toy class, megs and prime are almost microscopic. although toys now adays are better engineered, their sizes even back in the G1 days dwarfed their supposedly superiors. with the toy scale all over the place, i was thinking of ways to portray the size difference in my picfic. for instance, G1 Sixshot towers over even G1 Megatron. my thought is why would so much larger/powerful transformers follow megatron and optimus prime? Megatron ordered Predaking around like a pup. Is Megatron's skill and power output so great his larger warriors fear him? some would say combiners or larger transformers are just stupid/simple minded or with no desire to lead. Or could there be some mysterious rank structure recognized? The larger Jetfire and Omega Supreme willingly follow Prime's every whim. is it because he's the leader? i applied the situation to myself. I'm stronger, faster, and smarter than my boss at work. I am of bigger scale. i'm a leader class and he's a scout. LOL. But why don't i punch his lights out and sit at his desk? because of assault charges? my respect for contemporary society? laziness? just looking for thoughts. i'm not on here enough hahaha

Since the female Predacons have had a resurge of interest, i've been doing more and more sketches to flesh them out. Here we have the bear and tiger casually sitting. i imagined them in a briefing of sorts.

another quick sketch of the pairups between Triblurr's Angelbots and TM2 Dinobot's female Predacons. i could have darkened it a little, but this was just to get the idea out. i wanted to save these characters for last, but i love Caricon, the vulture and young decepticon. i originally had her take some damage prior to landing on Wildfire's cannon, with Caricon riddled and scarred with bullet holes. the glare and standoff turned out well. the next robot piece i do with these two will show their youthful sides.

quick sketches of Cross-shot vs. Bludfin. kinda rough pencils, but i sketched it out real quick. wanted to just post something and get the juices flowing. can't figure out how to resize properly though, darn photobucket!!
anyway, the one pic is the battle and another one is the aftermath with Bludfin beginning the hunt. the battle piece is a snapshot of Bludfin's rushdown in the water of Cross Shot. i was going for a freeze frame type of image, before the collision of blows. the second pic is supposedly the aftermatch of the battle. Bludfin's sitting in ankle deep water, rethinking the battle. She came away with a wrist guard of Cross Shot's and being she fought Cross Shot in her element, she takes a break before continuing to hunt her pray. i participated in Gamestop's Street Fighter IV national tournament. basically, certain stores held a single elimination type tourney. my only issue is when i signed up for the tourney, i went and read the rules so i'll know what was expected. The official rules from Gamestop's corporate page stated best out of 5 matches, along with no personal joysticks or personal button configurations.
well, the day of the tourney, the gamestop employees sat they are only doing the best out of 3 matches. i openly state to the manager that the official rules say "best out of 5" and they can double check them online. Their response was "we'd be here all night because best out of 5 would take to long with 30 competitors". i shook my head and didn't want to be a jerk and played by their rules. i came in 3rd place. there was also a gamespot location literally across the street hosting the same tournament. i went over there and they stated they played the best out of 5. i was shocked! i promptly called all tournament sites and all general managers stated they played by the official rules. my dilemma now is do i become the colossal jerk and try to get a recount or do i just chalk it up to life being unfair and forgetting about it. i believe having more chances to win by playing a 5 round format changes the game in alot of instances. individual stores can't bend and change the rules as they see fit, especially in a nation wide competition. it was completely unfair to everyone who played in that particular store that day. had we went to another location, the outcome could have been different, but who knows. just not sure if i should contact corporate because nobody is listed as the point of contact for this competition. i'm a great street fighter player, but i make a big stink about this, somehow get into the finals and get creamed, yeesh (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) . i wasted everyone's time. let alone, how do we ensure equality to everyone else who competed with me? |
