So I've got all three of these on Blu Ray but I haven't watched any of them for a good long while. I've got a good day off and I think it's time to give these suckers a rewatch. And since we're doing that...
It's no question that the Live Action movies gave our beloved franchise a much needed shot in the arm. They've had the biggest effect on the franchise since TF:TM. They turned Transformers from an obscure hobby to a household name. But for all they brought, they've also earned a bad reputation among the fandom. From lasting silliness like Mutebee that just won't go away, to the consistant accusation of racist green and red robots, silly nanemslaps, and of course, NONONONONONONONONONONONONO (I just spoiled half the dialogue in all 3 films). But still, looking back now, what do you think of these films? Do you like them? Hate them? Ambivalent? And do they make you anticipate or dread TF4?

So it started out barking a lot, which isn't unusual (hey, it's a dog, dogs bark). But after awhile it's lapsed into these really pathetic howls and crying barks. Getting worried, I took a peak over our shared fence.
They've got their dog in one of those big dog cages, alone, outside and as far as I can tell, there's no food or water in the cage. It's warm but not terribly hot but still. It's obviously upset with the situation, and it's howling is shaking every protective bone in my body. I don't think they're home. I'm not sure what I should do, or how long I wait before I call the ASPCA.

As a denizen of the online world, I see lots of people moaning about being forced to log in to Blizzard games, complaints about DRM and anti piracy measures and lords knows I've made similar complaints myself.
But then you see a story like this: http://www.greenheartgames.com/2013/04/29/...ause-of-piracy/ TLDR: The development company behind Game Developer Tycoon (it's exactly what you think it is) released their game, and simultaniously released a 'cracked' version over bitorrent. The only difference is that the cracked version would have virtual pirates bankrupt the Game Dvelopment Sim over time. Hilariously, said Pirates then started complaining on forums because they couldn't figure out how to stop it. The not-so-happy ending to this is that ONE DAY after release, 90% of the games users were playing the pirated version, You read that right. The rest of the article is pretty thoughtful and interesting pov from the game developers perspective. What do you guys think? |
