The 2013 NHL Playoffs thread

Dozens of Canadians here, and the dude from Texas is the one making the thread?

I've never seen anything like that game 7 finish in Boston, and I've seen some pretty wild ones. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I was rooting for Leafs fans to not be heartbroken for another year. 58 and a half minutes of excellence undone in 90 seconds. Brutal.

It looks like the Capitals are out, speaking of snakebit pro sports cities. I don't have any preference, I'm just rooting for some good hockey. The Blackhawks will be tough to beat, if I had to single any one team out. Thoughts, so far?

The 2011-2012 National Football League season thread

The NFL season approaches. And with it, the profound hopes of millions of fans and the aspirations of some 1,700 athletes. Hopes and aspirations that were nearly sundered by the uncertainty of a labor dispute, until everybody woke the hug up and realized that they stood to lose buckets of money.

So, the continuity of the League is assured. And it's not without an intriguing set of storylines, in typical NFL fashion. Every team has its own to contribute as youth and regime changes invade the landscape and threaten balances. Will Peyton Manning miss games for the first time in his career? What does that mean for the rest of the teams within that division? The Philadelphia Eagles loaded up with talent in the offseason, as many free agents make their way to new teams. Can they possibly live up to what is expected of them? The precedent has been set, will the NCAA's wrath continue to extend beyond their reach? Will Arian Foster accommodate defenses even more by getting a tattoo of the exact spot on his leg for defenses to strike at? Will his own mama turn away in disgust, refusing to draft him for her fantasy team? Will my Bears beat down the returning champs so badly that Packer fans will break out the sweat pants and cry into a tub of whatever dairy product provides them the most comfort?

All of these things, we shall have answers for! Rejoice with me this weekend, my fellow nerds, enthusiasts, jocks, nerd/jock hybrids, and fantasy owners. Spell out your hopes and expectations, America's Game devours them all and creates tightly coiled, steaming piles of sports entertainment!

Two unknown WFC characters

I was taking a look at some of the concept art that I had unlocked in the game last night, and came across these two:

They're not based on any of the generic soldier models I've seen, are they characters in the DS or Wii versions of the game? I'm getting kind of a Cybertron Scattershot vibe from the first one.
