Well as blatant rippoffs go...

No, wait, still totally blatant. Morbidly curious as to how far they'll modify the designs, though if "Not-soldier" is any indication, not much.

This "Reveal the Shield"...

This isn't so much a complaint against the toys themselves, they're fine. I'll probably get some when they show up down here (possibly before the universe suffers heat death, but it'll be touch and go). The issue is more that with a few exceptions (like Mindset,Fallback, and maybe Chopsaw), none of them would really be a mystery to anyone.

I know its probably not the point in the grand scheme of things, but it might have been better to use the line to bring out new characters or molds/versions of certain characters that actually have some ambiguity. Characters like Punch/Counterpunch, Flipsides, or Doubledealer would have been great- especially if they could have had molds that could have three modes, and accomodated two rubsigns and have one concealed in one mode or the other. Or maybe something like a reverse of the G1 Clones, a set up where two characters have an identical alt mode but one is an Autobot and the other is a Decepticon- have them each have different robot modes accordingly, packaged so you can't actually see which one it is.

Ahh, I know such things are unlikely (especially when Hasbro has half a dozen new Bumblebee remolds to get out[/snark]), and I suppose given the target demographics you want things to be a clear and unambigous as possible (which makes the whole 'Reveal the Shield' thing kinda moot, but hey). Still, I like the idea, maybe it'll start something off. Then maybe I could convince the tide to turn back, then ride a winged marshmallow to the Sherbert Kingdom...

Starcraft 2 Beta

I've recently downloaded the Starcraft 2 multiplayer beta, signing in under the name Pennpenn (with the extra definer 'Jin'). Its pretty good so far, though I am appaled at Blizzard for apparently removing the Viking "Transform and Roll out!" confirmation quote. Oh well.

Is anyone else on the beta? Anyone want a match? I must warn you, I'm fairly... well, terrible.
