Happy Birthday

It's that time of year again! Who do you think had the best E3 showing this year? Please vote and give a reason or two why you voted that way.

So I bought my first car

Well it's not my first car, but I never bought a car before. Aside from the GTO that I inherited last year, I have been using the one that was given to me when I graduated college. It was a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue and it was a decent Point A to Point B car. Well, I got hit on the Interstate on-ramp last week, and it did enough damage to probably total the old girl. Rather than buy another old "Beater" car to replace her with, I decided to get something new that was extremely gas effiecent. At first I thought of the new Electric cars, but the lack of charging stations in this state kind of killed that idea. So next I thought that I would look at the Chevy Volt. It was suppossed to get 80 miles on a charge and the gas generator on it gives it excelent range for trips. Unfortunately, the list on it is insanely high at $40K+ and its back seat might have less room than the back seat on my 2005 GTO. So that was out of the question. I looked at the Chevy gas mileage cars, but I found them all to be too small for family trips.

Then I remembered that the Camry was suppossed to come in a Hybrid and that it was suppossed to be nice and not too pricey, and that there was suppossed to be a special deal going on that weekend. So we, the GF and I, drove over to look at them, but the dealership didn't have any in stock. What they did have is a ton of Prius cars. So, after droolling over the sporty looking one, we look at the larger variant, the Prius V. It was large enough to fit in a car seat properly, and it had a ton of cargo room. I was really impressed with the interior, and the technology inside the car is absolutely amazing.

So we test drive it, and it being a Hybrid, and the first Hybrid that I have ever driven, as soon as I press the gas pedal to go forward, the gas engine cuts off. I freak out a little and hit the break, thinking that the car just died on me. The salesman is in the back seat just laughing at me. He said that everyone does that the first time that they drive a hybird. After that, I drove it a few miles, and it was just a wonderful car. I intended to sleep on it, but they made me such a great offer on the car, that I decided to order one. After finally finding one with a red extieror and a grey interior, they ordered the car and after a brief stop to upgrade the seats to leather, it should be delievered sometime this week.

I was waiting until I had some pics of it, but I am fairly stoked about getting this, and felt like sharing.

So, anyone else here have a Prius or a Prius V?
