Machine Wars.

Set in the Wingsverse, after their G2 story.

The last part of "A Flash Forward" leads into the story tease. Here's what it shows in that final panel:

HIGHLIGHT to view:
Silhouettes of MW Soundwave, Megatron, and Starscream standing over a wrecked RTS Laser Prime and Galvatron. These "Machine Wars" are a premonition of the future as seen by Sizzle.

(I suppose it could be Megaplex, not Megatron. Might make more sense, given Galvatron's right there. Or not, who knows.)

I kinda hope that the mold twins (Hubcap & Hoist, Mirage & Prowl, Skywarp & Thundercracker, Megatron & Megaplex) are mold twins again. Or at least most of them. I wouldn't mind Hubcap being a yellow car again.

If we don't get Universe Silverbolt as MW Starscream, I will be very disappointed.

Other than the potential of that figure, I can't say I'm too excited about a MW set at this point. I'd rather they do another character from the likely molds instead. (The RiD flip changers, Rotorstorm, Stalker, etc.)

I love the original MW line quite a bit, but I'm not sure there's enough to mine for a full set of convention toys, especially given the fact that each of the original toys have more interesting characters and decos to pay homage to.

Nope.

Prime Voyager Skyquake.

But the mold is probably too new to use...

A king's ransom for a new Machine Wars Skywarp! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

This is cool news as I always loved Machine Wars (being the return of the 5 original large Decepticons). I do hope they give us updated versions of each. If they do end up doing things like Mirage & Prowl, I hope the colors are a little more elaborate than the original MW figs.

I've gotta hand it to them, they're doing a great job of making me feel just fine that I generally can't afford Botcon figures.

So would new versions of MW Skywarp & Thundercracker use the Classics Seeker mold or something else like RotF Thrust, Dirge, HftD Terradive or something? I could almost see them as a redeco of Space Case.

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -- C.S. Lewis

Machine Wars Starscream shares a mold with Skyquake in 1997.

So I'd like Machine Wars Starscream to once again share a mold with a Skyquake in 2013.

Good news to see MW finally get some love. No clue what the toys might be. Cyberverse Commander Dreadwing might make a nice MW Seeker starting point similar to the original small TC and Skywarp.

The one thing I want is for them to keep close to the little we know of MW... That Thundercracker now believes in the Con Cause but has openly rebelled against Megatrons command, that there's a different, creepy Hubcap, and that Megatron is employing Doubles in combat.

-ZacWilliam, trying to remember I there was anything else... Did Prowl have a weird function or something? Goes to check...

I will reserve final judgment until I see them, but as of right now I'm happy I don't think I'm going to have to own these. Better than Shattered Glass, yet still an area of Transformers I have absolutely no interest in.
