Ken Christiansen's blog:

Dragon wings, claws, "tail"... yup. Really looks like a Predacon.

Yeah, I think we got a glimpse of that last week.

I can't imagine that not being a Predacon given all we know.

-ZacWilliam, reminds me just a littlle of design I did in the Bestiary thread riffing off the Grimwing Kreo Predacon design (albeit much bigger more bad@$$). Wonder if maybe this will turn out to be non-Kreo Grimwing...

Third appendage hanging off the back (plus a mention of him in two of Grimlock's Hall of Fame bios) has me guessing Scorponok. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif)

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -- C.S. Lewis

Given that 1) Shockwave is supposed to create the Predacons for Prime S3 and 2) this is supposed to be a prequel setting up Prime S3 and 3) that guy is super dragony, there's no way it's anyone other than a Predacon IMO.

-ZacWilliam, the only question is I think weather he gets to be a named one like the toys we've seen or is just a personality less beast...

His colors and wings remind me of Cybertron Brimstone.

Same here! I was all like, "New character? Isn't that just one of the Deluxe Insecticons? Ah well, at least Zacwilliams will be happy."

I would have been too.

Though this also makes me happy.

-ZacWilliam feels Barrage should always be drawn with the silly round little orphan Annie eyes the toy has.

Well, Christiansen said in that blog post the character has a name he couldn't reveal yet, so I don't think you have to worry.

All we saw in that was Predaking's claws.

After the last Aligned-continuity was basically brushed out of continuity by flashbacks, I was kind of planning on ignoring comics set in that universe. But Shockwave? I'm sold.
