Fireflight! You sexy sexy beast! You are soooooo pre-ordered it's not even funny! I can't wait for you to meet your Hasbro Brother. (Also you are Skydive now)
The rest I'm sticking to the hasbro versions except for the combaticons that I'm skipping all together in favor of the Wreckers remolds This post has been edited by Dave Zero1: Oct 16 2012, 01:36 AM |

Magnus is so awesome I'm disappointed the mold is so tiny.
I might bite on the Blast-Off. Shame Vortex wasn't more G1-ish. Soundwaveblaster is beautiful. -------------------- ![]() |

Nice of Takara to finally find its buckets of paints after the Prime toy debacle.

The real question though.... How will they handle Ruination?

Damnit. I was really hoping they'd fix Vortex. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)
I am now worried about the Wreckers. -------------------- |

Yeah... I know that's how he looks on the game, but screw that I just want someone to TRY doing Vortex in G1 colors. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif)
-ZacWilliam, honestly feeling Fireflight even less than the US version. Kinda wish they'd made him Metaphawk or something. Edit: REALLY autocorrect "Metaphawk?" This post has been edited by ZacWilliam1: Oct 16 2012, 03:39 AM -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

FINALLY!
Yeah these all look great. I'm not familiar with the changes on the non-Bruticus guys as much since they haven't been released but they're all looking great. Starscream has a blue helmet! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif) Damnit. I was really hoping they'd fix Vortex. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif) I am now worried about the Wreckers. In Takara's defense this is how he looks in the game which was the basis for all the other WfC / FoC figures. The only chance he'd have had of looking like the G1 version more was if he was based on his artwork which had him with blue and purple parts instead of reddish. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Also, Fireflight is way different colors than the Hasbro one. The same colors are there, just in totally different amounts and placement.
With all these new TF photos, happy birthday to me! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) Randy -------------------- ![]() |

I'm glad TakaraTomy is remaining consistent with the bright pink and bright purple highlights. They look really great here.
Some of the figures look to be a huge improvement like Ultra Magnus. That Sideswipe car mode looks fantastic! Glad Ultra has blue eyes too, that they're keeping the eyes the proper color for those who weren't in the game (the red eyes on Magnus looked weird and Fireflight has blue eyes now too). Not sure if I'll get the Hasbro ones in addition to these or not. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Yep, liking pretty much all of these. The Combaticons are just what I wanted really as far as accuracy, and everything looks much nicer and more finished all around. Kind of hoping that a lot of the shine is due to nicer plastics, and not buckets of paint that will easily have a lot of small nicks and scratches on the finished product.
As happy as I am to be getting an actual, nice-looking FOC Vortex in his game colors, I would still go for a G1 colors version. Want to see Takara do the Wreckers right as well instead of going to all the trouble of new parts and then making the colors barely recognizable like Hasbro did. -------------------- "Wise men profit more from fools than fools from wise men; for the wise men shun the mistakes of fools, but fools do not imitate the successes of the wise." - Cato the Elder "Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights. I still have hope for the Wreckers. As they're staying consistent with the game interpretations where appropriate as well as applying the hard and fast rules of what the game set forth such as pink and purple highlights, red and blue eyes, and shy finishes.
The Wreckers are not likely to have the light blue highlights, and since every other retool is coming in the same order that Hasbro is releasing them, they seem likely. Kickback is a huge improvement, being actually game colors and not this purple guy who looks like Kickback's cousin more than Kickback. I don't know why but the purple on the Hasbro one was too overpowering and the black/gray too understated to look like him. Changing the hues and balances goes a long way to making him look more like the game. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Since these are still all hand painted (it would seem), I know that none of them will actually look this nice in final toy form. Things like the outside of Sideswipe's chest, the inside of Magnus' legs, etc are most likely going to be unpainted plastic, making them look a little weird.
But they all do appear to be an improvement over Hasbro's. Although I'd consider the Fireflights a tie since I still very much like Hasbro's deco, and Hasbro's Kickback I had grown used to considering a Transformers Prime Kickback and therefore actually like the less-G1 color scheme. Of course, I'm still never going to play FoC, so my interest for all these remains almost non-existent. This post has been edited by NightViper: Oct 16 2012, 07:00 AM -------------------- |

So...beautiful. No....words..
I'm very impressed that Takara was able to make the FOC Magnus and Sideswipe molds look like something other than P's o S. I'm also extremely happy that I unloaded my SDCC Bruticus last month, because man, those figures are basically perfect in terms of colouring for me. Once again, i'm very happy that i'll have a chance to buy these at retail when they get released. |
