QUOTE
Hasbro has applied for a brand-new Trademark (at the United States Patent & Trademark Office) under 2 categories:

Toyline: toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms.

Cartoon Series: entertainment services, namely, an on-going animated television series for children.

And the Trademark is… Beast Hunters.

Fans of the Beast Era would immediately recognize the new trademark as the original working title for Beast Machines.

Well that's...interesting...

I gotta admit, part of me thought (and hoped) it might have been a localization of Beast Saga, but a dice game? Yeah, that wouldn't sell over here.

I would LOVE a limited subline revisiting the BW cast/era.

I wouldn't have thought it would be on Hasbro's to do list at all, but the original working title for Beast Machines would work great for that.

-ZacWilliam, certainly a LOT of interesting options...

If this is a TF line, I'm going to be giddy.

Well they have said that Rhinox and a few others were on their "short list" of characters they wanted to do, so this gives them an outlet for that. I think it could be real interesting, a sub line for Beast formers while Generations is Vehicles mostly.

So a possible beast themed transformers line WITH a tie in cartoon.

Assuming this isn't an import of Takara's Beast Saga dice game.......color me excited.

It's very definitely Transformers related. The trademark application is for converting robot toys, note.

The Copyright mentions transforming robot toys so that kinda leaves out Beast Saga, which otherwise would have been a good choice.

I hesitate to speculate because likely I'll be thinking up geekier and cooler things than the reality.

-ZacWilliam, I suppose maybe if hasbro were designing them some transforming accessories but still that seems unlikely...

This will either be awesome or extremely disappointing. My Beast Wars love won't let me come down in the middle on it.

Edit:
Is it too much of a coincidence that this and the Transformers 4 announcement happened so close together and they said TF4 will focus on an all new cast?

Is that just too much of a stretch?

No, because Beast Hunters is apparently going to be a cartoon.

Which could still be a movie tie-in.

Perhaps this will be Beast Wars G2. Not your fathers Beast Wars!

With less funky colors, I'd hope.

Well, archer mentioned something at Botcon 2010 about wanting to revisit beast wars, so maybe this is that.

Maybe I should hang on to my Tank Drones a bit longer to see how this pans out. The demand might be increasing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif)

I remember that.

People went crazy over the rumored BWG2 thing that turned out to be Beast Hunters/Machines.

I literally screamed so hard with joy that my neighbors dogs are still barking.

Really looking forward to this. I really hope its a new part of the beast era stuff, but it could be part of Aligned, which would be fine as long as it's handled well.

You know, they could sell Beast Saga though this as well, like smaller toys in the line. Or pack in with larger toys.
