My initial thought was that this was too incredibly cool. I still have one of the old Shoguns (granted one I customized because it was missing some parts).

Though then I realized it would be Optimus Prime and probably BB... I don't know that I am keen on paying $200 for Shogun Warriors-type versions of characters like OP, BB, Megatron, and Starscream.

This was on the front page, but I don't see a thread.

24" tall, with rocket punches.

Wake me up when there's images and prices. Even then, I'll probably stay asleep. Unless they transform-- and I'm presuming they won't-- they sound like two-foot tall Robot Replicas. Gimmicks or no (and I love gimmicks so much), I like my Transformers to transform or at least have ridiculously awesome transforming animal partners who fight crime.

But, uh, hey, cool if you like this kind of thing. Don't let my ennui (or my narcolepsy) impede your celebrations and festivities and hula hoops and rocket-powered axes.

Uh yeah, Super Shoguns are giant retro-1970s vinyl toys. They will probably have, at best, three points of articulation, assuming you can turn the head and both arms, which is pretty generous for this type of figure. These will be very niche, expensive display pieces. Not something most people will be interested in.

IIRC, the Star Wars Stormtrooper one was ~$200 or more.

These should be cool (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) They've done a Storm Trooper jumbo too:

$300, so Optimus (I assume Optimus) will probably be the same price.

I see the appeal of this, but woah. Limited run aside, more than 30 or 40$ seems way too much for these kinds of figures. Like, If these were standard retail it'd be the type of thing I pick up on clearance.

So they're basically Metalforce Convoy, except bigger and more expensive with less detail?

TFW is saying that the first two will be Optimus and Soundwave.

It's a (probably non-transforming) Optimus Prime in the style of the old Shogun Warriors / Jumbo Machinders toys. It's not for everyone, obviously.

This was one guy's interpretation of a Jumbo Megatron:

I don't have any pics of what it looked like finished, but it was eventually auctioned off on Ebay, and I think it now resides by the stairs at Hero Gangu in Osaka (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

Rust proof wooden armor plating. It's nice, but I'd stay away from campfires or flamethrowers.

Not because he'll catch fire, but because people will try to "rescue" him with fire-retardant foam.
