Aaron Archer has confirmed that Hasbro has no current plans to release the TF: Prime Voyager Breakdown mold, as it was not made to the same standards as the American PRID toys, and is thus in a "No Man's Land" cost wise.

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -- C.S. Lewis

Well thank Primus I've got one sitting in my pile of loot.
TFSource and Toyarena still have some I believe.

"He did not elaborate on this, but he claims that the figure is in "no man's land" cost-wise, so it may be that converting the Arms Micron ports may be too costly for the company."

... Uh... what? What is this bizarre notion supposed to mean? "converting the Arms Micron ports"? What the hell? Why would they need to convert anything? Why wouldn't they just leave them alone?

The simpler answer for the statement would be that it was likely made with more parts and mass than they could properly budget into a wave of Voyagers.

Might just mean that he's too big to sell as a deluxe but undervalued at the current Voyager price because he lacks electronics. I guess they could have squeezed him into the TRU exclusive line if that was the case, though.

... Yeah, after FE Bulkhead comes out, I think I'm gonna quite collecting TFP until they make a new Breakdown or stop putting in buttloads of transparent plastic and crappy electronic MechTech weapons.

Transformers Prime seems to be built on shattered dreams and unfulfilled expectations.

I'm more inclined to believe that he's more than Voyager price to manufacture, since we know Hasbro will just add in weapons and stuff to fill out a toy that's under-budget.

Welp. Guess I should look into what Cheets might charge to paint up a Takara Breakdown all nicey-nice.

How much of his deco is from the stickers? I'm still waiting on mine to arrive.

Knees, blue stripe on feet, rear bumper, headlights, fender stripes.

Really the only ones that I'm even tempted to put on him are the fender stripes. Otherwise, he doesn't look too naked compared to Hasbro's standard TF Prime releases.

Considering he's sold out at BBTS, that may be hard!

I'm glad that was censored; there was me thinking that Knock Out was the ambigiously gay one. He's probably jealous now.

I've been saying for weeks he wasn't coming and no one believed me.

It's nice to feel vindicated.
  • I mean he was coming out in Japan with no sing of a US release.
  • There were 3, that's THREE, releases scheduled for Japan (of a Voyager Decepticon mold)
  • Magazines listed him as Japan Only mold
  • His copyright information said TOMY with no mentioning of Hasbro.

I mean what more did people need.

And it's too bad if people are going to miss out on him (I mean there are 3 versions coming out so planning accordingly shouldn't be hard). As he's easily as good as the First Edition Voyagers. I'd put him as better than Optimus and probably as good as Bulkhead. He's really great.

I'm going to do the same, except mine is swear filtered.

Or they were not willing to make declarative statements based on incomplete information, because I don't recall ANYONE stating definitively that he WAS coming out in the US.

I'm not going to quote anyone specifically to point them out, but there were people stating he was going to come to the US regardless of the evidence pointing towards such (and I had been stating he wasn't for some time now). Even when the release galleries were rolling in, you could find people on other sites going "I'll wait for the US release." Whether or not they were definitely stating he was, they believed such to be true.

So are people still counting on the Jet Vehicon getting released here?

Are TakaraTomy's price / intricacy points different from Hasbro's then? Well I guess so.

For the longest time TakaraTomy didn't even have set price points the way we've come to define them in US retail. I'm not sure if that's changed.
