It looks like Hasbro's enacted that price increase on Deluxes we first saw signs of at BotCon. So goodbye $12-13 Deluxes, hello $15 Deluxes.

Also, hello Bruticus!

Hi - Hot news from Hasbro this morning - we've just listed the Transformers
Generations Wave 02 Case and Set that include Bruticus! Hasbro has increased
pricing on all Deluxe TF items moving forward, so there is a price bump on this
and all future waves. The case of 8 is available at $119.99 and we also have a
set of 5 that removes all the old figures from the case listed at $104.99

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/list.aspx?list=9925

6" Marvel Legends Wave 03 has also just been listed - Cases available at $124.99
and sets are $114.99
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/list.aspx?list=9932

The case includes:
1x Mystique or Danielle Moonstar (random)
1x Deadpool (X-Force Outfit)
2x Dr. Doom
2x Iron Man (Neo-Classic)
1x Punisher or Blade (random)
1x U.S. Agent

We'll shortly be listing 3.75" Avengers Wave 04

We'll also be listing Avengers Transformers Crossover figures within the hour

OK... Hasbro ups their Deluxe price to $15... by hey, BBTS... $105 for Bruticus? That is over a $25 markup?! Yet the case of 8 is only $10 more? I guess they are already desperate to get rid of thier extra Primes and Jazz figures...

it's hard to imagine paying $100+ for the retail verson when the SDCC version is also $100 (though certainly harder to find).

The case of of 8 is pretty great. Too bad Shockwave isn't repacked and we could get the whole first and seconds waves. No worries though, I'll give the second Optimus to my son! And I'm not terribly worried about finding Shocky in stores, being a first-waver.

It does make me feel better about springing for the SDCC version though.

$105 for 5 figures or $120 for 8. Looks like they're trying to encourage customers to buy a case so that they don't have Optimuses and Jazzes filling up their warehouse.

Huh, that's pretty blatant.

In any case, I probably won't be getting these guys, least of all through an on-line retailer with that kind of markup. For whatever reason, I'm just not feeling the FoC figures. I liked the WfC ones alright, but this just isn't sitting well on me. Maybe when I see them on the shelves, I'll change my mind.

I'm sure HTS will offer their summer discounts by then or there will be discounts at TRU or Target by that point. Most of those places offer free shipping anyway. I'm in no rush.

I don't see how anyone can afford to shop through them with their practices that are way more self-focused than customer-focused.

Hey! We're BBTS! Prepare to pay more!

Not that I'll be ordering from them but they probably don't want to be eating (literally) Optimus and Jazz figures for breakfast for the next three years due to everyone ordering Bruticus components instead.

Yeah but that's not my problem. And it's one reason why I almost never buy from them.

Huh. With $15 as the price for deluxe, the case actually has no markup at all. (Okay, technically there's a seven cent markup, because the "and ninety-nine cents!" pricing is only applied once instead of eight times.)

In their defense, their margins are likely a lot tighter than the retail sellers, so they can't afford to clearance out stock in another 6 months (heck, even retail seems to be stingier in their ordering recently). While that's not your problem, it's equally a big enough problem for them to adjust their business practices accordingly.

That said, I'm just cheap enough to where $25 is enough to make me willing to roll the dice on finding them in store. I've never used BBTS (or similar outlet) and I think that markup has scared me off my prior plan of using them to insure I can find a Bruticus.

I understand the unique challenges BBTS has to face when they have to order cases with low-desirability toys for a customer base that's almost all collectors, but that ceases to matter to me as a potential customer when it's just too damn expensive to buy from them.

That's understandable. For me, it's balancing the hunt time vs. the markup from BBTS. And actually, if I buy the case, I just have to get a separate Shockwave, and there's no markup at all.

Addendum: So, what I've decided to do is buy a case + Arms Micron Shockwave. Because if Hasbro Deluxes are now $15, and AM toys are $30, then the difference of $15 for a minicon seems a LITTLE crazy, but not crazy enough not to do it. With this being a second wave of Deluxes, I'm not too concerned about not finding them. Especially since I would tend to think these will be found just a couple of weeks after Wave 1 hits.

I'm going to buy all of the Brawls I see. Not because I like Brawl - I'm mostly indifferent to him, actually - but just so you won't able to build a full Bruticus! Ever! Mwah-ha!
