Now I should say that these are not necessarily brand new discoveries for the whole fandom, just things that for the most part I have been introduced to in the last year or so having taken a significant break from the scene. One or two of them might still come as a surprise to you, and that’s certainly what I’m hoping.

Haha cheers Torsten, but in this case the digging up was done by others, I just attached my big mouth to it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif)

Wow that didn't come out right..

So if it's not sealed, how do you authenticate a red cab in a Powered Convoy box?

Someone has to also say that they knew a kid up the street that had one like that.

Joking aside, I'd assume the copyright stamps or something.

Well that's one of the reasons the auction went so nuts, it was almost going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity to grab the best example of an authentic one possible. If I had to try and identify a non MIB one I would go on the cab stickers. The licence plate on a Powered Convoy cab should be a sticker off the sticker sheet that reads "Diaclone". Now the regular grey trailer Powered Convoy stickers have a matte white background, only the chrome trailer Powered Convoy comes with metallic/foil/chrome stickers.

Grey-trailered Powered Convoy stickersheet for GiG Powered Convoy (red and blue cabbed, no chrome) and Japanese Powered Convoy (no chrome):

Chrome/white trailered Powered Convoy stickersheet for Japanese mekki Powered Convoy single packed and PCDX version:

So if you were to find a red cab Powered Convoy in Japan with a chrome trailer, and the red cab's licence plate had a silver metallic "Diaclone" sticker, that's as close as you'll probably get to verification I guess.

All the best

Are you aware of any discernible difference between Ceji and IGA plastic wheels? I've got a couple which came alone, always assumed they were IGA but now I don't know.

I can grab my Mexican Ramjet landing gear some time this week and place it alongside the Ceji Ramjet gear, take a pic or two, and let you know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

If you've been finding these in UK lots, 99% sure they are Mexican.

OK Colin here you go:

The thicker part of the landing gear shaft starts higher up on the IGA mould. On the Ceji mould nearly the whole shaft is thick...heh

Ahaha. Thanks for that, I'll have to dig out my wheels and check them. And my IGA jets in case they've been mismatched.
