Just watching G1 on The Hub today, and I had to do a doubletake, as I completely forgot about this little dandy. When the Autobots attack the Decepticons Megatron pulls out his trusty boulder energizing pistol, which makes boulders attack the Autobots! Who thought of that one?
We have a robot who turns into a gun, with a gun on his arm, holding a gun that makes rocks shoot at his enemies. G1 Megatron was just too cool! What are your favorite weapons or gadgets from G1? |

Optimus's laser rifle, the time he held it like a bazooka during a Dinobot rampage... Infinite badassery!

The griffon.
*ducks tomato* Someone had to say it. Actually, it's hard for me to pick a favorite. I love G1 weapons. They actually look like guns and don't have any vehicle parts stuck to them. I'm not liking this development. Lesson of the day, when we go on some crazy quest, don't let Fnu Aw hold the Dues Ex Magical Artifact. Right, that's it. Tomorrow, I'm painting a giant pentagram on the floor, then buying a goat and sacrificing it to Fnu Aw, Lord of All Evil. |

In all seriousness I'm actually a big fan of all the tiny chrome missiles... kids today are too coddled.
You learn awful damn quick to not put toy parts in your mouth, after you try to pass one of Grapple's missiles sideways >_> so I've heard -------------------- ![]() |

I like chrome missiles until the paint starts to flake off.

Is that a Talkboy? "Hey kids, we're home early!" Galvatron's "Ultimate Weapon" that Rodimus totally called him on, since Rodimus was at least coherent enough at the time to realise that if Galvatron actually had a world ending super-toy, Galvatron wouldn't have even got the twist ties off before firing it at the nearest planet and/or Sweep. When the Autobots attack the Decepticons Megatron pulls out his trusty boulder energizing pistol, which makes boulders attack the Autobots! Who thought of that one? Uh, Peter David I think. One of Doctor Doom's favorite tactics used to be using the enlarging ray in his gauntlets to turn dust particles into an avalanche. And since Transformers is largely a product of Marvel's creative talent at the time... -------------------- |

I must not have been paying attention the single time I saw Changing Gears because wow... that is a really cool and really random weapon.
But I think the shockblast cannon would have to be my favorite. Because a) Wheeljack and b) hilarious. -------------------- ![]() |

I like how the Autobots drive from Oregon to Kilmanjaro in less than two hours. That's the real secret weapon.
