Check it:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%88%E3%83%A9...1615&sr=1-1 The Amazon release is going to come with some exclusive Energon Cubes. I think it's safe to say, though, that the real attention grabber here is Laserbeak. Soundwave is Soundwave is Soundwave - sure, it'll be nice to have some more articulation and a more animation-accurate head and bodily proportions, but really, there's very little transformation- or design-wise you can do to improve significantly on the mechanics of the G1 figure. That Laserbeak, though, holy jive! -------------------- |

I could not be more bored with Soundwave... but damn if that Laserbeak isn't impressive. They actually worked the thrusters into the tape mode.
... Wait. how is that going to affect his colors in tape mode? Hm. M "Still, I've Skipped Or Sold Off Pretty Much All The Other Masterpieces... So No Worries Here" Sipher -------------------- The ISLE OF RANGOON - Advantures in Learning and Sarcasm!

Oh yeah, that's the stuff. My favourite G1 character.

Yup, that's pretty amazing. Love what they did with Laserbeak and Soundwave looks perfect. I imagine Laserbeak's cannons are achieved by having more streamlined wings.

I think Soundwave DOES look amazing. In the way all MP toys SHOULD look amazing. It's wonderful in an expected way. He looks like he'll be very solid, which is great. I want to see him in scale with something.
As everyone else said, Laserrbeak is amazing. I would have bet against the built in thrusters being possible. And he looks awesome to boot. Laserbeak is definately more must own for me (that's not to disparage MP Cassette Man though.) Two main Laserbeak thoughts beyond that: 1) Damn it they're gonna make me buy Soundblaster to get Buzzsaw aren't they. 2) I want to see other MP G1 Cassettes! Yeah, everyone's gonna be asking for Ravage. Me, for some reason I REALLY want Ratbat. I think a Masterpiece Ratbat would be amazing in all its cool little details. -ZacWilliam, my kingdom for MP Blaster with retractable Comic style visor and MP Steeljaw and Rewind. Is Laserbeak's cassette mode the same size as the original G1 cassettes or is he larger?

I'm pretty sold on these, but would hold off for a US release. Man, Laserbeak is a thing of awesome.

If we knew about the possibility of other cassettes I'd be more excited. Laserbeak by himself is just boring.

Maybe a MP Hound is in the works. His big accessory is Ravage in a cage?

Seeing them makes me shake my head in amazement. It's as if the animation model jumped off the TV screen! Laserbeak is nothing short of incredible, integrating his guns/thrusters. And by the way the hinges on the sides look, they may fold completely over in tape mode, and could thereby maintain the silver/chrome.

If we knew about the possibility of other cassettes I'd be more excited. Laserbeak by himself is just boring. If the tape size hasn't changed, then maybe Ravage might work. More, if you don't mind squiggly options, that shall remain nameless. This post has been edited by Kevin S: Jun 14 2012, 07:45 AM -------------------- My FlickR folder...

Laserbeak did turn out pretty cool. But... He's still the only thing about the duo that interests me in the least. So, I shall continue to give it a pass.

Good lord that looks fantastic. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-silverbolt.gif) I'm going to hate not being able to afford it! D: There will be a Hasbro version eventually. I just hope the don't do something like Rodimus, where they pull out an integral part, for no reason. (If you don't know, US Masterpiece Rodimus has parts removed from his elbow, that move the elbow with his arm, instead of having to pop it down when you move it.) -------------------- My FlickR folder...

Man this picture couldn't be any better!
Also Soundwave can hold 3 Cassettes! I wonder if a Soundblaster would even use a different tape deck window, since it was the same IIRC in the animation. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Randy 1) Does he really hold 3? Am I wrong in thinking that suggests their making more MP Recordicons? 2) I hope you are right. I hate Soundblasters sticking out chest drawer. -ZacWilliam, it just looks bad. -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?
