Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the power of months of constant immature bitching. If the PC port bombs and causes damage to the company and we never get a "part 3" I'm blaming those who harassed them into doing a port they didn't believe they could do well. -ZacWilliam, if those same folk make one complaint about the quality of the port they should be slapped. -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

I foresee this being horrendously rushed and buggy.
But hey, this is what you get when you try to do a port midway through devlopment. -------------------- "This seems like a bad idea..." "Stick around, I'm full of bad ideas." |

I think ZacWilliam1 hit it on the head. I'm happy that I'll get to play the game (although truth be told, I still haven't installed WfC yet...), but I'm very skeptical about how they went from, "We're just not doing PC, we don't feel we do it very well", to "By the way, we're 2 months away from release, and we're doing PC after all".
EDIT: Scratch that, I saw that High Moon themselves aren't doing the port... Can any gamers tell me about Mercenary Games and how good their work is? I don't see how the extra sales from the PC market will hurt the chances of a "part 3". I'm happy to get it for my PC. If the controller scheme is still messed up like WFC was, then I will do what any PC gamer would do, fix it my damn self and keep on chugging.

My biggest problem with WFC on the PC was in robot mode how the perspective was off to the side. Granted I think a lot of (console?) shooters are like that nowadays. I don't know, I don't play many shooters anymore. But I was mostly fine in alt mode (except I don't think I could remap keys and I really wanted a different key for lowering altitude).

Because it costs lots of money to make and sell a PC port, and if they don't do a good job (and they've said they don't think they can) then it could easily not make back the money it takes to make from it, causing a loss. -ZacWilliam, not saying that will happen, but the company itself thought the chances was good enought that they didn't want to make it. -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

I wonder if the next update will be "Well, we said we couldn't do female characters, but we're such great guys that we're doing it anyway!"

Glad to hear this. I prefer PC over consoles when I can for several reasons (usually no fees to play multiplayer, no need to keep track of discs if you buy it on Steam or something, frequently higher resolution graphics....). I will probably get this version over the 360 version, since I have no PS3 or Xbox Live Gold so this will be the best way to get online access.
I hope we can get that G1 Optimus skin on the PC. I do have a horrible feeling that this is going to be a lazy port, though. Good thing I own a wired 360 controller though, it's almost a necessity for playing console ports nowadays. It seems like many game developers just port the 360 version, tack on basic keyboard controls, and call it done. -------------------- |

Took me a while to find the right one, but I think this is their website:

Waits for a joyful QH to appear... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) I was trying to post but I was too busy crying tears of joy. One of my buddies on the Steam forums has been pushing on High Moon over this...I thought it was pointless but now they are saying that the Steam forum posts actually helped make a difference. So yay for that! I remain hopeful that engaging a third party company to do the port will result in better quality. Obviously High Moon agrees. On the other hand, as talented as these guys may be, this is their first PC port, so....who knows. This post has been edited by Quantumhawk: Jun 1 2012, 07:03 PM |

Is it me, or does Soundwave look like his Sonic White/SG colors in that add?

. "Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -- C.S. Lewis |

Hmm. Got the original on PC, but I do have PS3 now. I vastly prefer playing shooters on the PC and won't touch 'em on consoles (gotta have that mouse) but I'm still worried about how good the port will be. Might stick with console instead.
