Pretty much everything I was hoping would get announced has been publicly stated as not being at E3 or not existing at all, so I'm hoping there's lots of surprises, otherwise it's going to be a pretty lame E3.

I expect more Halo 4, Resident Evil 6, a new Kinect game, COD: Black Ops II to be heavily featured, and probably a bunch of multimedia stuff that not many people will care about. It'd be nice to see the Xbox 3, but most likely they are holding off on that for next year, hopefully because it will be able to take advantage of the 4K resolution HDTVs that will come out fall 2012/Spring 2013. Sony show: 6:00PM Maybe a few big PS3 games, Tout the Vita sales, but other than that, I have no clue what else they could do. Nintendo show: 9:00AM Definitely the year to be touting the Wii U. They will probably have some launch games to show off as well as some games that will come out next year for it. Tout the 3DS, and its good year. -------------------- |

Same power as the PSP but with no UMD drive AND it costed more to try and appeal to the "buys expensive gadgets" crowd. It was LITERALLY a worse system than the PSP. |

As someone who only follows the industry at a casual level I'm a bit excited for E3. Ok, that's always the case but I think we have a good chance at some good surprises this year.
Nintendo: Wii U - They want this to be a sucess, this is gonna be the place they have to really start to sell it, so I'm gonna expect them to go all out. I'd be very surprised if we got out of there without a new Zelda, Mario, or Metroid announcement. One or more of those on the 3DS (or a new version 3DS) seems possible to me too. Nintendo's the one we KNOW has stuff to show us, and if they've learned anything from their past consol launches (gosh I hope so) they should have some A-list games in the que. Microsoft: I know the official word is no" but I really expect to see the Next Box in some state. I just don't think there's any other way for them to make a real impression this year. There will be a few "big" FPS, Sport, and Casual game announcements I don't care about at all of course. And probably a few games that look amazing (a bioware game maybe) but generally I think they're gonna want to have some consol news to grab spotlight in a way games, even good games, alone can't. Sony: They've been the worst performers in the past IMO. The move is really a joke. The PS3 has taken a long time to become an even marginally decent 3rd place system. The Vita is their only strongpoint really, and the 3DS still gets points over it with the "Gameboy" lineage in the public's mind I think. I don't know how they pull a good show at this point. Unlike Microsoft I feel like it really is too soon for a new consol from Sony. No PS4 is likly IMO. So I guess they need just a parade of A list games. If they can get a handfull of "must play" experiences on both systems... well they'dd come out just I tiny bit ahead for me. We'll see. -Zacwilliam, has no actual expertise in this field at all, just random gut feelings, I'll be curious to see if I'm even close...
