So, the other night I got curious about the bio's for the convention exclusives and looked them up on the Wiki... kinda sad that the borg-sounding Junkions don't have much on there, course that aggrivation was quickly snuffed out by a OMG tsunami when I read through the comic summary.
Magnus just Nuked the Shatteredverse?!?!?!?!?!? So... what? This a not-so subtle way for them to officially 'retire' SG merchandise or what? Cuz I mean.... dayam. -------------------- |

I thing you read it wrong. The Shatteredverse is alive and well. I read this... QUOTE After stealing that universe's Earth, bringing it to their own universe's Cybertron, and destroying the alternate dimension, Ultra Magnus declared victory and Tracks fled with him to parts unknown.

It's written from SG Magnus' point of view, so "that universe", "their universe", and "alternate universe" should be read from that perspective. Making it:
QUOTE After stealing that universe's Earth Classicsverse QUOTE bringing it to their own universe's Cybertron Shatteredverse QUOTE and destroying the alternate dimension, Ultra Magnus declared victory and Tracks fled with him to parts unknown. Classicsverse -------------------- |

Speaking from SG Magnus' point of view the Classicverse was just some backward alternate he destroyed. It was a world full a wussy backward Autobots, so it was useless anyways.
Magnus's plan seemed to be to steal the rarified energon under the Ironworks base and take it to SG Cybertron, while destroying the Classicverse. Thanks to the Autobots, the entire planet (Classicverse) Earth was saved and transported to SG Cybertron, but sadly the Classic universe was still destroyed. The club still has the Transtech world, the Wings/G2 world, and Shattered World, and several other minor universes to play in for future stories. Heck, they could even still tell a story or two in the Classicverse in flashback if they wanted. This post has been edited by mignash: May 7 2012, 02:07 PM |

QUOTE Magnus's plan seemed to be to steal the rarified energon under the Ironworks base and take it to SG Cybertron, while destroying the Classicverse. Seemed more like he just wanted the Rarified Energon and was going to carve that portion of the Earth into the Shatteredverse...that would've destroyed Earth but left the larger Universe otherwise intact. So Soundwave's "fix" ended up killing A LOT more people. ...unless I read that wrong. -------------------- ![]() |

Magnus intended to blow up the entire Classics universe and bring Classics Earth to the SG Universe... though in pieces. All Soundwave managed to do was make Earth survive the trip.

You can't make an omelet without destroying a universe. Or something.

The various protagonists assumed Magnus's plan was "only" going to destroy Earth, which is why Soundwave thought extending the forcefield around all of Earth would foil his plan, but Magnus's reaction suggests they were mistaken to begin with. -------------------- |

The Earth got through and it has lots and lots of Classics Transformers in it, right? |

This years comic has the worst possible ending for a fan who doesn't really enjoy SG figures/stories and pretty much gaurentees future SG Botcon sets.
But then they go and make Circuit, so that's almost all of the European Action Master Elites done as exclusives (Only Missing Omega Spreem and Turbomaster right?) If they do a FoC Bruticus as Turbomaster as SG Bruticus, I will buy it. |

I lose all interest in Transformers fiction when it reaches "the whole UNIVERSE will/does get destroyed" levels.

I guess they blew up the Classicsverse to make room for ReGeneration One, since they're continuations of the same verse.
As for G1-y stuff, there's still Wings... for whatever that's worth. (At least it gives us more purdy G1 toys?) -------------------- QUOTE You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world.... ![]() |

You know, I bet they decided to nuke the Classicsverse because it's become kind of redundant.
Furman's ReGeneration One comic is going to cover the same "sequel to the Marvel Comics" angle, but likely reach a wider audience and become far more well known. Meanwhile, the Wings Universe seems to be becoming the place where CHUG molds make their fictional appearances, eliminating its other reason for existing. Come to think of it, we've seen very little fiction set in it of late. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to have it go out with a bang, instead of having it fade into obscurity as it otherwise would have. |

I don't see how it's redundant, we could have two stories being written by different comic book companies that had a common origin, but whatever, FunPub still has at least one G1 universe to play in, the G2 Redux world.

I dont follow comics or club fiction in general, and dont like shattered glass. But i am curious as to what aspects or lines or continuities are part of the classicsverse, that were destroyed. Can any one give me a quick rundown? The wiki article is particularly dense.
