So I was walking down the Transformers isle in my locale Walmart, and I was looking at the $20 Prime Optimus Prime, and Megatron Figures.
I noticed something odd, a slightly different colored figure in a box. At first I thought, ooh Starscream! But nope, it was something much different. It was a returned Megatron, but fully painted! I quickly bought it, and at home love how it compares to the original. The only thing I find modified is the Gun no longer has the Deployable Blades. Weird find! This makes sense to me.
Someone bought a Megs and painted it hoping to turn a healthy profit on eBay only to discover eBay is drowning in Megatron customs and only the truly unique and amazing ones net a profit. So this person returned the figure to at least get their money back. --------------------  |

I was shocked.... It was like finding a rare varient....
Looking over the figure, someone painted every piece.... Just the time and effort made it worth the second purchase of Megatron for me. LOL, I asked my Daughter which figure she liked best and she said the original, because it was less scary.... Which is a win in my book for the custom figure. I hope so. I'm going to keep an eye out for any future random painted figures at the store and will let you know if I find any more.

I've seen people return their customs, but they've almost always been really crappy customs of figures that later came out officially (typically Marvel or DC). I'd love to find something like this.

It's a good thing you bought it, otherwise 20 years from now, some guy on the interbrainweb is gonna be in a violent argument with people about how the PRiD Megatron he got when he was a kid was painted up all awesome, not bare gray plastic.

My idea was that some creative troll was doing this in hopes of causing a 'MP Optimus Prime is the same figure I had as a kid' or 'Blue Bluestreak' type urban legend further down the line, though I do hope it was a fan trying to be awesome and give some random kid the coolest PRID Megatron ever (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-op.gif) .
