hug. I had already convinced myself that I didn't want these guys and that the minimates were the better (and less expensive) toys.
These pics absolutely blow that theory out of the water. They are absolutely gorgeous and I need every single one of them. These are clearly the better Battle Beasts. -------------------- ![]() |

OK, THIS is more like it. These are so much more what I want in a Battle Beast revival than the Minimates stuff.
Looks like they use the Bot Shots type tumbler in the chest. Plus battle dice, and cards, and sometimes hand held weapons and playmat boosters? Thats an intricate seeming game. But I'm cool with that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) Design-wise I think they're just slightly on the "staid" side. So many of the originals were so weird and quirky. Some of these are just a little "normal." That's a very minor aesthetic quible though. They're really a pretty good update. Some are spot on. This guy is RIGHT ON the old Battle Beast style: http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop...g=us&CatID= These are pretty close too: http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop...g=us&CatID= http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop...g=us&CatID= http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop...g=us&CatID= http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop...g=us&CatID= I would 100% buy these if they came out in the US. Part of me wants to import them and I don't import anything. -ZacWilliam, wishes Hasbro would import these and throw a new Battle Beasts anime on the Hub. Sold. DST must be fuming. I don't think they'd have any right to. They've sat on whatever rights they have for years now and not produced much at all. And what they are just now putting together doesn't look nearly as good or as true to the old Battle Beasts as what Takara has done here. -ZacWilliam, I can see where they'd be concerned, I'd be far more likely to import one of these than buy one of their minimates even with the price difference, but I don't think they've got real grounds to be angry... -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

These look sweet. Sadly, I imagine DST's versions will stop these from having a domestic release here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif) .

These look sweet. Sadly, I imagine DST's versions will stop these from having a domestic release here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif) . I wouldn't be too sure of that. Hasbro/Takara are much larger more powerful companies than DST, with much bigger broader markets and lots more money. At most I think it could keep them from being called "Battle Beasts" if released here, but y'know I honestly doubt even that. If Has/Tak want to release something here, a check to DST would be pretty simple for them I think. -ZacWilliam, of course who knows if Hasbro would want to, but I'd love it if they did. Oh the blind-pack spending... -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

Yeah I hope Hasbro can release this stuff over here, they look nice, but I don't know if they're nice enough for me to import them.

Now I am confused. I thought DST had the rights to these? And the toyline is confirmed to be coming in the autumn this year...
I must say, I was never a fan of the old toys, and while I can understand why people who liked them would love these, they are just not doing it for me... their legs and arms, like for the old toys, are out of proportion (too long arms, too short legs) and articulation seems to be just as basic as in 1987, which is kind of pushing it in 2012. So i'll wait for the DST versions, rather. That said, "Battle Hamster" or whatever his name is is just hilarious. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) -------------------- |

These are incredible. They're everything updated battle beasts should be. And more. I'm so pumped for the game as well. I think these would definitively have a place on toy shelves over here. I wouldn't even care if Hasbro dusted off "Beast Wars" and through that on their packaging.
Now, the real question is, when can I buy these? Praise being said, I still want some minimate battle beasts. All this product is making up for their complete absence as a line for over 20 years. I wouldn't want to sacrifice one for the other-I want them all. -------------------- |

Ah, I see they're scheduled for September. What a brutal wait. Fall IS going to be the season for battle beasts.

These look so keen. What's the probable range of motion, just arms?

From the prototype shots, I think they have arm, leg, and some neck articulation. Also, they may be dice shooters.
I'll probably fall on them once HLJ.com does their listing. I've never had a problem with Robotkingdom, but their checkout is a headache. -------------------- |

I just figured the square symbol pieces were tumblers like Bot Shots have, but that could make a lot of sense! Especially with the dice booster packs shown. -ZacWilliam, quite interested in these, even though Sept. is far in the future... -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

How much you want to make a bet Hasbro knew this, charged DST for the Battle Beast license, will release these completely killing DST's offerings, then buy the rights back for a song.

These prices are encouraging. I was more than a bit concerned that these were going to be pretty damn big. (Due to the tiny hand holes and theories about the chest-gimmick.) But at the prices at which BBTS have listed them? They must be close to the original Battle Beasts' size. So... Consider me a lot happier about these! -------------------- |

Cold...but quite brilliant. But wouldn't that mean producing them over under another name, then rebranding the line? I could certainly see Hasbro wanting to offer these as a another Bakugan competitor, but I think the nostalgia factor is nill, outside of a few folks like us. -------------------- |
