Or depth perception...

Assuming their optics work anything at all like human eyes, that is. They likely have highly advanced sensors, with significantly more visual capability than us.

Way to over-analyze a joke!

Maybe it's me, but when I start developing personal canon to explain why the extraneous bucket that I'm unnecessarily "restoring" to the guy's head isn't silly, I stop trying to restore it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif)

While it's chock full O nostalgia it comes off as kinda dumb. What are the wings for? Why prohibit neck movement which then limits how expressive it can be?

Yeah, doesn't interest me. Now, if this were integrated into some new back-mounted ladder assembly, that would interest me.

Like that Grappel kitbash posted earlier, correct?

I seriously liked how that kitbash ended up looking, added bonus being moving the crane off of his arm.

Yeah, I liked that too - I would love to see a third party kit that did that, kept the existing head mechanism (all you really need to do is leave room for it) and maybe include a gun that fitted over the hand but had alt mode storage. That would be gold.

Well, Rumble had pretty awful resolution of less than 1 Witwicky, but it was probably all the drugs.

Looks like you're getting your wish for Inferno Blud (both Universe & Henkei colors as well as an Artfire version).

I don't miss the headbox on my Inferno, per se, but only most of the time I spent owning an Inferno toy growing up was missing the headbox assembly too.

Universe Inferno has too much heads and hands to be nostalgic for me.

But in all seriousness, I can't be too upset over the headbox not being around, because the Classics Inferno has one of the most beautiful profiles I've ever seen in a Transformers face sculpt.

I would've been perfectly happy if they'd just given those molded wings a bit of white paint.
