How was the US able to get them for $20 if Takara has to sell them for $70? It just seems so disproportionate.

It's probably another "We're making a limited run, so we're jacking up the price" thing like a couple of the United Deluxes.

If Takara is trying to save money/increase profitability charging 3x retail for the PCCs is pretty much the stupidest thing imaginable.
They would've had more success just handing out the money on the street they spent. -------------------- ![]() |

THIS! I'm actually aghast that everyone is babbling about the PCC's and largely ignoring the new Unicron figure! The PCC's are the same toys everyone lambasted for years, but slap a new paint job on them and they're suddenly gold? Wow, too bad Hasbro didn't just do that in the first place! -------------------- |

Importing always carries a premium.I'm not sure where you go that from, given that the sources for the price of these products is a solicitation from Takara and a retail listing on Amazon.co.jp. The retail price is 6090 yen = $75. Amazon's discounted price is 5098 yen = $63. So roughly $70. Ah, I was thinking we were talking about the prices up on BBTS. My mistake.

I'm not sure what thread you're reading, but this one is hardly universal praise for the PCCs. And I'd assume people are talking more about the PCCs because we have amazon pages with nice high resolution photos of them, and only a teeny tiny little picture of a grey prototype Unicron. -------------------- |

I don't even think that's a prototype. It looks like a computer model. -------------------- |

Unicron combining with Optimus Prime is awesome and random, and might make him worth picking up if he's Japan-only.

Speaking of Prototypes; are we not gonna talk about the Jet Vehicon prototype shown? Cause that looks pretty cool to me. Though, the Jet mode, looks sorta like a car with wings.

It was called "wave 3" and pretty much put a pin in the whole thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) But is Unicron a rock? I want a Unicron rock lord! I want to repurpose him as Classics Magmar! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) |

I'm not really interested in Unicron's pointless waste of engineering to combine with another toy.
Let's hope it can stand on its own. |
