Wow the MtMtE solicit and cover almost gives me the shivers. That sounds amazing. And it features the full return of real Cons to the book. That RG1 cover is pretty awesome too. Best piece by Wildman I've seen on this series yet. VERY excited.(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) -ZacWilliam, wondering if any of the five will be folks we know... -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

Grey helmet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)
Also, no, I'm sorry, Turmoil has at no point ever been anything resembling a fan-favourite character. He's that murky guy who sort of appeared in that one issue. -------------------- |

He's that murky guy who sort of appeared in that one issue. They said they would do "corrected colors" in modern scenes but keep old style Marvel colors in flashbacks. It makes a sort of sense. Though I don't see why keeping Marvel colors throughout wouldn't have been easier/better. Oh, and Turmoil was in TWO issues! So... Yeah, still not really a favorite. -ZacWilliam, maybe this issue will make him one? Maybe? -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

Oh, and Turmoil was in TWO issues! I think if you added those two issues together and squinted, you could make out about one issue's worth of artwork. Murkity murk murk. -------------------- |

Remember when each TF had a special super power? (Yes, ok that was pretty much just 1984. But remember it?) Maybe Turmoil's power is Murk. That'd be pretty cool. He could be like the anti-Rainbow Bright, creating a field of murkity dark confusion to turn the battlefield to his advantage! -ZacWilliam, takes his cool fanon where he can get, it darn it. -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

Also, no, I'm sorry, Turmoil has at no point ever been anything resembling a fan-favourite character. He seems to be FF on IDW forum... Like a lot of other characters/people. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) |

Now forgive me because I've been waiting for the trade on this series, but has Wheeljack in RiD always co-opted Prime 'Jack's bodyform? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-depth.gif)

I'm all for advertising hyperbole but referring to Turmoil as a "fan-favorite character" is pretty much outright lying.
Hell referring to Turmoil as "a character the fans may be aware exists" is kinda stretching. -------------------- ![]() |

Hell referring to Turmoil as "a character the fans may be aware exists" is kinda stretching. Depends on what forums you read. For example, if you mostly read the IDW forums, then Turmoil IS a fan-favorite character. Let's not be all TFW2005 here and assume that the entirety of the fanbase is right here and the folks who aren't here agree with us. There's a spectrum of opinions across the Internet with some localized puddlings of beliefs. -------------------- |

His appearances were in issues that (I doubt) sold over a few thousand copies.
I mean, in all honesty, the largest segment of "The Fandom" are the people who watched the movies and maybe have seen a few episodes of Prime. They probably don't even know who DRIFT is to say nothing of his one time Commander who showed up for like fifteen panels across two comics. It would be just as disingenuous to call Sky Garry the "fan favorite Autobot commander" or Paddles "the fan favorite Dinobot" even if you could find fifteen fans who agreed with it; that statement is far from definitive on a fandom-wide scale. On the other hand...it's just a comic book, I should really just relax. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-depth.gif) That's not what Prime Wheeljack looks like. Well, I've seen him on the show AND have him sitting on my shelf, so to my eye he bears a resemblance. I'm aware he's not an exact copy, but he looks more than a little similar. -------------------- |

I'm aware he's not an exact copy, but he looks more than a little similar. He's definitely cribbing some design elements from Prime. The RID comic in general seems to draw from current or possible near-future toys, and that's a good thing. This post has been edited by Chip: Apr 14 2012, 08:57 AM -------------------- |

What exactly are the criteria for someone to be a fan favorite? Like over on the IDW boards, there's about three people excited about Turmoil and he's barely been mentioned since the Drift miniseries when he last appeared. He doesn't get a tenth of the attention guys like Overlord do.
