QUOTE Arcee's catchphrase seems to be 'saiyaku', whatever that means. "You're the worst!" or "the worst!" or something like that. It's got a literal meaning of disaster or bad things happening, but most of the time when teenage girls use it, it's because they're pissed off. You mean like Yoshi from Digimon Savers/Data Squad? |

I have a question that I don't think I've ever seen confirmed any place.
Do the Japanese DVDs for Animated restore the cut segments, as there's no problems with length on a DVD? (Basically, did they cut the episodes before or after they dubbed them?) I know that the DVDs included the three skipped episodes (though they didn't restore the proper series episode order). Knowing whether or not the Animated DVDs were uncut might be a clue as to whether the inevitable Prime DVDs will be unedited in Japan or not. -------------------- Hey, check out one of my sites!

Disappointing compared to the awesomeness that was Animated's Japanese intro. Not that I was expecting burning justice and mysterious cloaked figures, but I feel like there's a dissonance between the audio and the imagery. Appropriate for a dub, I guess. Saa, All I Can Do! And All You Can Do! HABATAKE Transform! You noticed that too, huh? I thought when I first listened to that song, that it was a very odd match for Transformers Prime, and seeing the entire opening, merely re-enforced my opinion. There are some sweet visuals, and I do like the driving and transforming clip going into the show's title. The fact remains that the music just doesn't mesh. At the moment, I can't tell you if it's merely a case of audio-visual dissonance, or if the song just simply doesn't suit the show at all. I'll watch the opening, full-sized, and think it over for a couple of days. The intro needs a waaaaaaaaaay better song. It feels like some random fan took a random rap-song and just slapped it on.

Picked up volume 1 and there was no difference from the broadcast versions as far as i could tell. Also a heads up to all those looking for a stream, my souces hooked me up again so its on youtube now I thought it was a joke when i heard the intro tune online a couple of weeks ago. Animated had much better tunes for its japanese run. It feels like they took the Epic away from primes intro just to make it hip for the kids. -------------------- TF Raw!! I happened to catch you upload it and put it to private earlier, so I knew it was coming. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) -------------------- Being part of any fandom is fundamentally embarassing.

For some reason I'm surprised that Bumblebee sounds the same. I don't know why I was expecting him to be different.

That intro was awful! The ending was just slightly better.
Nothing beats the end credit song for Victory though! -------------------- |

I just.... *sigh*
The kids voices are pretty damn close to the American version. Starscream's voice is odd but at least unique. Everyone else has the same, boring voices you hear in every other anime out there. For crying out loud, Ratchet and Arcee have had the personality ripped out of them. This is why the anime industry is in a delcine. It's stagnating. Nothing changes, they make everything similar to the last thing and it's freakin' boring. I'm gonna go watch some of our episodes and be EXTREMELY grateful for our animation industry trying new things. -------------------- |

You have to consider though that no matter what kind of song they'd have gotten for Prime's opening, it's really damn hard to beat out a JAM Project song for awesomeness. --------------------
