right.

what really separates Artfire from, say, ROTF Fearswoop or one of the RID repainted guys?

A G1 Figure basically.

Lord knows everyone in this thread (me included) wouldn't be champing at the bit to pay $100+ for say a purple Inferno repaint but when it's one that resembles a G1 figure none of us had and we didn't even hear about until a decade after it was released...

I'm not sure why you think this train of thought is always illuminating on a Transformer board. People like their G1 stuff. I would have thought you'd accepted that after the first dozen or so debates you've had on this.

I'm just trying to help people see Chris's point from earlier in the thread. But. Whatever.

I'll stop now.

All anyone needs to know -- and already understands -- is that Artfire is something we couldn't easily have before, and now we can.

And he's almost like the e-Hobby characters (Road Rage, Crosscut, Clampdown, Detritus, etc) to me at least, as he's very Neo-G1 (though not neo-G1).

Yeah, him and Stepper both. I truely do not care that he is boring. He's a new guy for the classics shelf and that's all that matters to me. If he were Hauler that'd be cool too, but the same deal really. G1 guy who appeared in a tiny bit of fiction. Can only generate so much enthusiasm, but I'd still pick it up. Not right away, I'd hope it'll eventually go on sale at BBTS, like I am with Stepper.

Only $20 more then Stepper despite being a Voyager?

That's kinda strange.

Judging by his appearance in last year's comic, I'd say not at all.

Soon we'll only be one updated Chromedome away from being able to recreate that panel.

Which I'll never do, but I just want an updated Chromedome.

Pretty neat how his two targetmasters form essentially a water canon in vehicle mode.

Artfire: As far as I know there wasn't a toy release planned for him (at least when I was drawing the comic), it's meant to be just a comic character (I just based the color scheme on his G1 counterpart)
His Targetmaster (the recolored Pinpointer, from PCC) is meant to be double handled (when firing).
