The villains are the only thing I really remember about the original series and probably the only thing that was good about it. If they aren't planning to go back to having villains of that sort, this reboot is probably going to suOH MY GOD I just realized I'm just like the My Little Pony geewunners who dismissed Friendship Is Magic for that very same reason.

I am semi-embarassed to admit I was a decently big Care Bear fan in the early years when I was young and had younger siblings. Say through the Care Bear Cousins introduction movie.

Looking back the villians did play a part in that. The wierd Freeze Guy in the original special (and the really dour tone of some of it) and Dark Heart. And, well honestly, though I've never thought about it really before, THAT era of Care Bears could have a real edge of darkness for it. There was gloom and grit and actual darkness/evil and that's what really makes it memorable now. You don't get that in kids shows much now.

Anyway, what I've seen about this show misses that element entirely (not surprising really) and seems rather generically upbeat.

-ZacWilliam, Add to that the marketting push to try and artificially recreate the Pony thing and no I'm not feeling this at all. Though it IS nice to see Tenderheart. He was always my favorite.

It looks like the same sort of slightly creepy CGI that Strawberry Shortcake has. Not really a fan to be honest. What's wrong with traditional cel animation.

I'm male and liked it back in the 80s, my sister and I always rented the movie from the video store!

Seems to be staying true to the Care Bears franchise by being painfully dull and bland.

Ha. I saw a clip where they made a "Pawdicure" joke which was a bit funny. Not sure when, if ever, I'll be able to catch this one.

The first episode is on the hubworld web site:
http://www.hubworld.com/watch/166609526900...on-not-season-1

Not ... horrible. Something interesting in the credits they have "character performance artists". Looking those people up, they're actors. A lot from other hub shows. It looks like they are doing some sort of mocap for the characters. Didn't even know that was a thing!

Anyway, I like the look of the Bears, though the humans are a bit creepy. Some of the jokes were kind of funny. Grumpy and Beastly are very funny. I like Beastly's little follower guys too.

Trying to find a way to get these videos off the hubworld site, but I don't think there's an easy (free) way to do so...
