Just thought I'd ask. I like TFP Voy Optimus better than FE Optimus, so that's not really "settling" in my mind, but I'm convincing my self that I will indeed be ok with the new Bulkhead mold as opposed to spending $70 on the FE.
I did splurge to get FE CJ and the Entertainment pack, though (granted, that last one doesn't really have a normal retail equivalent). Didn't include the wave 1 FE deluxes due to them being pretty widely available or at least affordable on ebay. Also didn't include the Eradicon because A) hey, no more than 3 poll questions and B) Japan only. -------------------- |

Can't the Takaratomy releases be in the poll too? I mean, Takara's Cliffjumper has a cannon similar to the ones FE Cliffjumper had, and Takara's Optimus lacks electronics.

I think your poll needs an option that says, "I don't have much of a damn choice, do I?" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-megs.gif)
EDIT: In all seriousness though, I'll be getting the PRiD molds. As much as I'm irritated with Hasbro about the whole thing, I refuse to reward scalpers with money more. This post has been edited by Ursa Magnus: Mar 6 2012, 07:51 PM -------------------- |

I'm getting some Prime toys, but actually none of those listed in your poll.

I'd be lucky just to see anything.
But seriously why did they make two molds? It seems like such a waste of time and money to produce two separate molds. -------------------- What signature?

It seems like such a waste of time and money to produce two separate molds. basically, at least some of the FE molds (specifically Starscream, Arcee, and BB) were supposed to be Generations toys, but when it seemed that DotM was to push a TFP mainline back until mid-2012, they decided to give TFP a mini/preview line (FE). However, the FE toys didn't hit until November (a year after the show started...) and they cut the feet out from under DotM early, so we're now getting the TFP mainline where the FE molds are redundant to agree. At least, that's what I've gathered. -------------------- |

I might settle for the Bulkhead despite that ugly as crap attachement thing and his generally less pleasing asthetic.
But I refuse to settle for PRID Prime, and if I can't get an FE Cliffjumper, I'm just not going to get a Cliffjumper. This post has been edited by Master Fwiffo: Mar 6 2012, 07:59 PM -------------------- |

PRiD Optimus Prime is fine. I've watched reviews for both, and I really don't see as much of a difference as everyone seems to claim.
Of course, again, not like I had a lot of damn choice. I'd much rather have the FE Cliff, and certainly the FE Bulkhead, but... again... Not at all bitter, am I? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-megs.gif) This post has been edited by Ursa Magnus: Mar 6 2012, 08:07 PM -------------------- |

At least, that's what I've gathered. I think I get why there was going to be FE and main line. What I do not get is why they produced new molds for the latter. Isn't it really expensive making new molds? Did they feel the FE ones were so bad they had to start over? Oh, and in regards to the FE vs. main line topic, I think I might actually prefer FE Arcee, but I never did see her in stores and I won't pay secondary market prices. So I guess I'm settling on her. |

I went for a mix. Doesn't seem to be an option in the poll for that.

Once you go FE Bulkhead, you can never go back. And I refuse to get PRiD Bulkhead on account of that STUPID stupid weapon of his. That, and FE Bulk is pure sex, and there ain't no way the PRiD version can do better by it.
PRiD Prime I have because he's the only one with "real" chest windows/windshield instead of the cheaty thing going on with the FE versions. But I hate the mold to bits, and only hold onto it for that one token of accuracy. FE Cliffjumper is just a superior toy to PRiD Cliffy. I only got PRiDjumper to pass the time until I got the FE version, and was gonna get rid of it, but will hold onto it for sentimental reasons as Cliffy WAS diagnosed on the Prime show with a case of "deadness." -------------------- ![]() Why? Because it's racist. |

I'm not a big fan of Cliffjumper either way, so I just picked up the PRiD version. But, God DAMN, are the FE versions of Prime and Bulkhead better. After I got FE Prime, I severely regretted purchasing PRiD Optimus instead of just waiting. It's just that good. PRiD Bulkhead already looks awful, so no contest there. FE Bulkhead is so satisfyingly hefty, too.

PRiD Optimus Prime is fine. I've watched reviews for both, and I really don't see as much of a difference as everyone seems to claim. If you get them next to each other in reality, there's world of difference. FE Optimus has these great superheroic proportions and a very dynamic look in general (not to mention a smoother transformation), while PRiD Optimus feels more like some lanky guy in an Optimus suit. It's weird, but that's the best way I can put it. Plus the PRiD gun is dumb as hell, since it "transforms", so to speak, for no discernable reason. -------------------- Fall of Cybertron will blow your mind. That is all.

I'm settling for PRID, because, as my buddy Ursa said, I ain't got much damn choice.

Since Cliffjumper has been one of my favorite characters and I can't afford to get the FE version, I decided to get the RID version. I completely disappointed by it. It's not it's necessarily a bad toy, it's just that it makes me want the FE version even more.

I'd like FE Cliffjumper, but I mean, come on. 40 god damn dollars? No thanks.
I may shoot for FE Optimus, who looks like a bargain on Ebay compared to some Cliffjumper prices. And Bulkhead looks really good too, but he's priced worse than Optimus. This whole thing is a mess. -------------------- |

I played with a friend's PRID Optimus, and he was really fun to handle. That his gun is a block of nothing half the time was really the one thing I disliked. Really turned me around from disliking the pictures of the toy and even the toy in package to wanting one.
So right now it's a conflict among "Get PRID Prime now," "Wait for the Weaponizer (which looks really nice)" or "Wait to see if the Voyager PRID Optimus repaint that will inevitably be announced has a cooler weapon." First Edition is off the table for me unless Hasbro rereleases it later (I could get it, but it's not "must have" enough to justify the expense for me). I've got the First Editions for all three but have been kicking around the idea of buying the Prid ones as well and display those ones in vehicle mode.
