Gives you a really good look at these guys and includes some additional photos not shown on TakaraTomy's site.

Man, I think we were better off without the really good look at them. Yikes.

Those attachment points for the weapons look a bit distracting.

The stickers look particularly awful on Cliffjumper.

Wow. Never been happier that I've canceled a pre-order. Those stickers are garbage.

There's no way they won't make a micron booster pack, right?

Wow, they really had to cut corners to include those Mini-Cons. Cliffjuimper's ill-fitting stickers remind me of a Big Lots knockoff.

I just can't understand this. They have actively worsened the appearance of the figures by actively cutting corners in order to create new add-on features as a universal gimmick that ISN'T PART OF THE FICTION. WHAT.

EDIT: Hang on - just read this somewhere else, hadn't realised it before - these Mini-Cons are coming unpainted and unassembled? Still on SPRUES?

It's actually pretty easy to understand when you look at the price tag. These things cost about 1/3rd less than prior toys of the same size-class.

Suddenly the US RID figures look positively covered in paint apps.

Well, if the sudden reduction in mass, size, and complexity for the Prime line was actually a Takara initiative, I guess we know where Hasbro got this influx of profit to pay for 40 Generations toys...

I don't know about that first part, as all the pictures show them painted metallic colors - unless they're just cast in them instead.

Looks like they're cast in the same kind of pearlescent semi-metallic plastic as Japanese FE Bulkhead (and two of the most recent Arms Micron giveaways), with all the rest of their color coming from stickers and their clear plug-in symbol plates. I don't think they've even got painted faces.

Man, I can't wait for Tomy's Hot Shot. What a crazy-ass thing that'll be to experience. Once. And hopefully not again.

I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't released there or ends up some kind of exclusive.

It is a shame what happened with this line...I have no one to give me the wheels I want anymore. Disappointing from TakaraTomy and I hope they get back into making premium figures sooner rather than later.

I'd really like to know what led them to think that step 1 would lead to step 3.

Well, I guess for Japanese kids, these won't have to "compete" with Hasbro's releases.

By the way, why did they have to put all those bumps there anyway? Couldn't they have simply put peg holes on the vehicle parts without making those ugly bumps? Would still look distracting, but not as bad.
