This topic is for all your fan ideas that aren't actually canon, but you personally consider them canon. Thus the phrase "fanon". I figure that rather than confusing other threads like episode discussions with our ideas, we could use this thread to discuss said ideas for fun and profit.

The reason Princess Celestia is only referred to as Princess instead of Queen, is that Equestria neighbours Narnia, and Aslan is king.
This would also explain why they have such a similar mish mash of fantasy creatures. |

Oooh! I love these kinds of things. So easy to loop around from plausible into Pinkie Pie territory.
Ok, first idea: Ponies are terraformers left over by discord as an experiment. Have to make sure they don't try and take over the universe after all! Two: Pinkie Pie could arguably be any of the elements of harmony, as she more than the others exhibits tendencies of all 6. She just focuses on laughter the most. Optimus Prime and Celestia are drinking buddies. Rainbow Dash as shown in several episodes is more for doing what is right and hearing out both sides than doing what would help her friends. Loyalty should be renamed Justice. Pinkie Pie likes to laugh, but more than anything likes to cheer up those around her as well as those who need it most. Laughter should be renamed Hope. Rarity despite being the element of generosity has some rather greedy tendencies. Yet interestingly wants the best for her friends over herself. Rarity would be best of friends with Greed from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Starscream has been having premonitions of a gaping maw of Rainbow... |

I've actually often thought the same thing about Pinkie, although I think she'd have difficulty with Magic (all her other weird abilities notwithstanding), not being a unicorn. But as far as the other, more conventional Elements go, Pinkie seems to possess a much more even balance of each. Her cutie mark is more of an interdisciplinary one than most as well, I think. For example, it's not specifically a musical symbol like Vinyl, Octavia or Lyra have; but music is an aspect of parties and she exhibits an extraordinary talent for it. The same would go for baking.

Lauren Faust established that one a while back in a dA reply. Of course, maybe magic could be used in place of the scientific techniques in our world for couples who have difficulty or can't conceive in the traditional fashion, but by and large they reproduce like any animal.

In fairness, that's not just my dislike for Scootaloo talking. Actually making her a wingcripple would well be worth a decent episode (Disabled people are people do, and deserve not pity or being avoided, but respect and such. And they can do things on their own, too, thank you very much) and make her character vaguely worthwhile. I consider the fanfic Canterlot Follies as fanon, myself.

I LOVE the Aslan idea! Woo, they should have an unofficial crossover (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)
I like the reassessment if the Elements of Harmony too. I really don't see Dash being too loyal or AJ being honest or Rarity being too generous or Twilight bring the most friendly. Actually the last element really isn't magic at all since 'friendship is magic.' but then that element is best personified by Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Only those two have elements that fit completely. Love the Hope over Laughter. That makes more sense. Justice works over Loyalty. Maybe Hardworking ness over Honesty? Or Empathy? The elements has to fit with the Harmony theme. -------------------- Oink!
