Getting shot by Vehicons? That's a new low, even for Starcream.
Breakdown noted in his report that he was impressed by the exceptionally good manners of Vehicon Subcommander Fowlerbot. |

When Arcee said "vermin" I immediately went "Insecticons!!". Glad I'm not the only one, and I hope that turns out to be the case. I was hoping for Scrapmetals, myself. Pretty great episode this week, definitely a part 2 out of 3, but really solid nonetheless! -------------------- QUOTE I'm bad at puns and not much good at anything else! |

Loved that Cybertron had some of the design cues from WFC, specifically "driving corridor arches."

I think we all knew that Optimus was going to get his memories back eventually, but the road they're taking to get to that point is awesome. Every scene with Starscream was great. HIGHLIGHT to view:
I especially loved his escape from the Nemesis. *THAT* was pure awesome! Like when he transformed mid-flight and jumped on the back of a flying Eradicon- just as crazy good as any action bit from the movies!! And I liked seeing how stern and hard-nosed Bulk and Ratchet were being with him when they were bartering information. Ratchet snapping at Raf's sappy gym story. It was great to see that the usual morale boosting story had no effect on him. But it was also nice to see him take it to heart later and apologize in his own way. The Autobot raid on the space bridge had me giggling the whole time. Ratchet making the "shhh" motion. emoticon And I laughed when Fowler asked how Breakdown was doing (blatant Star Wars reference, but I loved Fowler's reaction shot right after he said it- like, "OMG did I really just say that?!). I think Breakdown was really caught off guard. I bet no one's ever asked how he's doing. Hehe. "I know it's thankless down there. Keep up the good work." Aww! Breakdown's got a soft spot! Seeing Cybertron for an extended period of time is great. I wonder how much is CGI and how much is painted background. Either way, it looks spectacular. And I love that Jack's just excited to be on another planet, but Arcee's ashamed to show him her home looking a mess. Very believable reactions from both of them. And one thing I do especially like is that, despite losing his memories, and despite not being the quickest on the up-take, Orion Pax is no idiot. I will be very interested to see how it goes down in part 3 now that both he and Megatron are aware that the ruse is over. |

Weren't all the zombies trapped mid-transport when the space bridge exploded?

"I know it's thankless down there. Keep up the good work." Aww! Breakdown's got a soft spot! Yeah, I think that was my favourite part of the whole episode. Breakdown reminds me that the Decepticons are people too, they may be horrible, evil people, but they're people all the same. -------------------- QUOTE I'm bad at puns and not much good at anything else! |

I've said this before, but I honestly feel that if OP returns to his season 1 self after the next ep, it will be a huge missed opportunity.
Sure, give him his memory back, but have there be a caveat: have him imbued with a piece of Jack (or the like) to help him retain his youthful sense of wonder, doubt, and down-to-earth-non-epicness. There is such a nice quality the Cullen's Orion Pax voice. I wonder if kids watching are perceptive enough to pick up on and appreciate the subtleties, and if the writers are bold enough to run with it for an extended period of time and reconstitute Optimus Prime in a different way. Man, I love this Starscream, and I love that Megatron has had absolutely enough of him.

I hope so too. I kind of liked the idea of Prime losing his memories, as along with that, he lost the heavy burden and years worth of endless war that weighed down his spirit. I hope he's able to retain some of his youthfulness when he reverts to Optimus as well. |

I hope he needs to do something again to make him worthy of being a prime.

Weren't all the zombies trapped mid-transport when the space bridge exploded? Ratchet's scan showed them all over the planet before the space bridge went up. -------------------- |

Am I the only one who LIKES how Prime is emotionally cut off by his role in life, and think it'd be nice to continue exploring it?

Am I the only one who LIKES how Prime is emotionally cut off by his role in life, and think it'd be nice to continue exploring it? No I love it myself, as it makes sense in a lot of ways. That is not to say I don't love how Orion is much more wide eyed and naive. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

... They did.
Several times over the course of the first season. Ratchet and Arcee spell it out twice. They can't blow their whole game in one go, either. This needs to be drawn out. -------------------- ![]() |

But the problem is, there's not much you can do with 'has no emotions' for a character trait. It comes off as boring. Notice how Spock and other Vulcans only ever get interesting when they go nuts.

And yet Soundwave is one of the better characters. -------------------- Don't fail to see Nyarlathotep if he comes to Providence. He is horrible — horrible beyond anything you can imagine — but wonderful. He haunts one for hours afterward. I am still shuddering at what he showed. |

And yet Soundwave is one of the better characters. Eh, it's not quite the same thing. Optimus was boring until he got so mad that he decided he needed to kill Megatron, then ally with him, and then lost his memory. Soundwave is interesting because he manages to show such character with no face and no voice of his own. -------------------- |
