I totally saw the Star Wars reference coming, and I still laughed.
Take note, people who say that nothing ever happens in this show. This season is off to a strong start. |

So, wait, if Soundwave "sanitized" the data core why did it still give the name Optimus Prime as the leader of the Autobots when the story Megatron was telling had Ratchet as the leader?

He did say "sanitized" not "scrubbed". The image of Optimus was altered so if it came up without an accompanying search it probably would've been fine.
Granted yeah that's still a pretty weak explanation. Season 2 is off to a strong start. I'm actually starting to enjoy the show on its own merits. -------------------- ![]() |

Just finished watching the youtube. Good episode. Love that they're on Cybertron. Love seing Kaon referenced outside the Comics. Love Starscream's reactions to Prime at the begining.
My biggest reaction was at the end. Damn it that's a MEAN place to leave off! Now I litteraly have to spend an entire week wondering what the HECK that was. Drone? Animilistic "Vehicon"? Or a real honest to true Insecticon? -ZacWilliam, I hope it's not the only surprise or nod to the past waiting for us on Cybertron... I totally saw the Star Wars reference coming, and I still laughed. I knew it I KNEW Fowler would say that! Same, and I giggled and clapped when I heard it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) Starscream was great as usual. Very happy seeing Cybertron, them going to Kaon is a nice surprise I was certain it'd be at Iacon. -------------------- |

Ok, by far my favorite part was Arcee's reaction to arriving on Cybertron. "I never wanted to show you my home... like this." That was fantastic.
As for the Insecticon, it's totally Bob. And why Optimus appears in the datacores - it's likely in case Optimus heard the name the Autobots called him and wanted to look him up, and in case any other references to Optimus Prime came up. It was Starscream's fault entirely he started digging deeper. Was it just me, or did 'Optimus Prime' look like WFC's Zeta Prime? I'm still holding out that the Key won't be a magic cure-all for Optimus. I would be sorely depressed if all this was leading up to was 'Magic Makes Him Better'. I'm assuming the Star Wars ref everyone is talking about was the "base communication" thing with Fowler?

I dislike Star Wars so I'm not exactly familiar with the intricacies of the saga. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif)

I dislike Star Wars so I'm not exactly familiar with the intricacies of the saga. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif) This isn't intricacies of the saga. This is failing to recognize one of the most memorable gag scenes in film history. Hmph. Boring conversation anyway. -------------------- |

When Arcee said "vermin" I immediately went "Insecticons!!". Glad I'm not the only one, and I hope that turns out to be the case.
I want to see some more solid-er lineart for "Evil Autobot" Optimus Prime. Maybe it's a preview of what MECH is making ^_^ -------------------- ![]() |

Looks like Ultra Magnus to me.
Kinda annoyed that we still don't know who the scuttling 'con is, even though they were advertising him for this episode. -------------------- |

I was kind of disappointed when it was revealed to be a fake design the Decepticons threw together, but Orion would surely recognize any preceding Primes.
As for the Insecticon, I highly doubt any of the show's staff has any clue who the hell Bob is, but they do love putting horror move tropes in there since they're mostly horror fans, so I wager we'll see plenty more Cybertronian creatures and derelicts of all shapes and sizes next week. -------------------- Being part of any fandom is fundamentally embarassing.
