So, recently we've been calling the ~20 USD pricepoint "Powerizers". This is incorrect! They are, in fact, Voyagers--this is printed on the very box. "Powerizer" is a subname much like Mechtech was during DOTM. I have not yet found the deluxes, but I find it very likely they follow the same pattern.
Does this matter? Not in the least. Do I care? Yeah, I'm crazy like that. Thank you for you time and attention. -------------------- |

It's been bugging me too. It doesn't even say Powerizer on the box.
Which is good because that is a dumb word. -------------------- |

Interesting... when I picked up PRiD Prime and Megatron from Mejier, I noticed it was just listed as 'Transformers', but at Toys R Us today the shelf tag said 'powerizers' on it.
It also listed them at 26.99, while Meijer had them at 19.99, so take that as you will. -------------------- |

As I said, "Powerizer" is like the Mechtech imprint from DOTM. The box says "Voyager Class". I'm pretty sure what Hasbro is calling them on the box trumps what the store computers have in them.

I guess that opens up the possibility of non-Powerizer Voyagers?

The Deluxes just have Deluxe on the package. If the word "Revealer" is on them anywhere, it's in the Cybertronian script bits.

The BB/SS two pack co-sells clearly say "Powerizer Class."
I'd call it more of a dropped name for the size class rather than the gimmick name, though it works equally well as that. -------------------- |

Guys, I'm in Target right now, you think I'll see any Powerizer class figures? My friend wants a Prime.

So I guess "Weaponizers" are still Leader Class?

Nothing ever did come of that supposed use-your-smartphone-on-Voyager/Powerizer-packaging thing, did it?

Guys, I'm in Target right now, you think I'll see any Powerizer class figures? My friend wants a Prime. You'll be lucky if you can find one in the huge piles of MaxCons and Megas clogging the shelves. But in all seriousness, isn't "Voyager" just as stupid a name? -------------------- What is singature?

But in all seriousness, isn't "Voyager" just as stupid a name? At least Voyager is an actual word. I mean, sure it doesn't seem to mean anything in relation to TF toys, but I'll take it over an awkward non-word like "Powerizer" any day. -------------------- ![]() |

BASIC/DELUXE/MEGA/ULTRA/SUPREME 4 LYFE You say that, but Basics/Scouts don't exist as part of the mainline any more - the closest equivalent (Cyberverse Cmdr) is now the large class of the small-scale line. Which, of course, makes "Deluxe" a nonsense title, since how can the most basic type of toy in the line be "Deluxe"? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) And "Mega" and "Ultra" aren't nouns in common usage, so talking about "a mega" or "an ultra" just sounds weird (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif) |

BASIC/DELUXE/MEGA/ULTRA/SUPREME 4 LYFE You forgot Super (aka "Leader") between Ultra and Supreme. But yeah, this worked fine from 1995 to 2007. Now we just have a bunch of redundant novelty crap choking out Deluxes at the $9-13 range, no Scouts (lol Commanders) and the larger size classes are all dying off. Voyager will be the next casualty when stores figure out they're supposed to be charging thirty dollars for them (woo-hoo, eight bucks for a ten cent LED and two watch batteries!). -------------------- |

But in all seriousness, isn't "Voyager" just as stupid a name? It made sense back when it started in Cybertron, with the whole exploration theme for finding the Cyber Keys. Now it's just an artifact title. -------------------- ![]() |
