Doubt them. Question them. Suspect them.

For the purpose of this topic, I'll call "bad" a toy that the fandom in general thinks of as bad even if you don't personally, since this is about bad toys you actually like.

I like the late eighties toys. Those were my years. In particular, the Triggerbots and Triggercons. Plastic bricks they may be with limited articulation but I don't care - the nostalgia towards picking five out of the six up while on vacation that summer overcomes that. It was the card art that brought them to life for me. Crankcase, Backstreet and Windsweeper being my favorites. Don't think I ever did get Dogfight.

I'm also drawn towards Quickswitch. Sixshot never appearing in England, Quickswitch was my first six-changer. I just found him so versatile at the time despite his lack of articulation. He was the swiss army knife of Transformers.

To all those who consider the Energon Powerlinx Deluxes/Voyagers "bad toys", I say "screw you" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) .

Sadly, I no longer own any of them... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

Armada Sideswipe, since I bought the testshot figure to get out early pictures of it - and my version has a bitching lightning deco pattern on the side that didn't make it to the final product.

Another vote for Armada Sideswipe. Really, he's no worse than a typical G1 toy.

Cybertron Soundwave too. I've never had the problem some people report with his legs buckling, and his alt-mode's not supposed to be a convincing Earth form anyway, so the legs being visible in fighter mode don't bug me. Plus, with a little imagination, his right arm-kibble becomes a Gundam-style buster shield. . .

Cybertron Overhaul is a pretty crap toy, but I dunno, I just like it.

Well... I really like all the Classics figures, even the Seeker molds and Ratchet/Ironhide, despite how much some people seem to hate them these days.

I, uh, honestly never really pay much attention to how much other people like my favorites.

I love Break dearly. I know he doesn't transform so much as curl up inside a shell, and I know half of his mass is in one arm. But he is a penguin and also has a great robot color scheme, so he is glorious.

Apparently Armada Sideswipe has a lot of fans, as I like the character and the toy. I am looking forward to his Shattered Glass counterpart as a replacement though.

I LOVE the Jumpstarters. Love Them.

-ZacWilliam, also loves the Pretenders. Every single one.

And NO I don't consider either groups bad toys in any way, but I know there are folks who do, so...

It seems like a sizable portion of the fandom considers the Energon combiners to be "bad toys", but I really like them. I don't think combiners are meant to be entirely about their combined modes; they're okay deluxes and great basics that can also combine.

I have a great fondness for a lot of toys OTHER people dislike. But I'd never call them BAD toys.

The only toy I personally consider BAD which I still have a strange affection for is Supreme Cheetor. As much as I feel like this is an actual terrible toy -- one I would never buy for someone else -- I've never really regretted owning him, and as much as he frustrates me at times, I still like the thing. Can't really put my finger on why.

--Andrew S.
(There's a big difference between, "Actually bad" and "Doesn't fit stupid expectations" CF: Armada Hot Shot, Armada Megatron, Armada Sideswipe -- all GREAT toys that people rag on because they have stupid, unreasonable expectations.)

It was the card art that brought them to life for me.

I always thought it was interesting how the art on the boxes made it look like the figures were bending in ways they were never meant to, even if they did have more articulation for it.

Anyway, Jumpstarters. Twin Twist was my first Transformer, and I hope to get him again someday, as well as his brother.

And put me down for the "not actually BAD" group.

Knees are an unreasonable expectation? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif)

That said, I absolutely love Armada. Outside of the Minicons and Lucky Draw I have every single remold/recolor they did with those molds.
