Twincast has a tampographed Autobot symbol on his chest and some red stickers/paint underneath the upper thigh stickers he usually has. This makes me wonder if they used the Blaster door or smoothed away the techno-details on Twincast's chest to place the symbol (or just painted over it like with Encore Convoy)? It looks completely smooth (so either it's Blaster's or they changed the mold on Twincast). Nightstalker looks as originally depicted but Stripes is very much a normal orange and not the dark orange you get when Photoshopping black into orange. Randy

Note that the Encore's art has a yellow face with blue eyes instead of a silver face with yellow eyes. I'm thinking he's going to have an anime accurate (colored) face!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-silverbolt.gif)

Makes me wonder if the blue chest on Soundblaster is accurate (I believe his chest was purple in the anime). Also if he'll have red eyes or yellow.

Wow, the packaging and deco changes are starting to make me more excited for this set than Soundblaster. I never owned an original Twincast either, just the e-Hobby one (which had boring, generic packaging despite coming with Flipsides), so it'll be nice to finally have full-size packaging and boxart for Twincast.
I wonder how well he'll sell, considering the e-Hobby release never seemed to sell for much on the secondary market (last I checked anyways). |

I really love the yellow face; I preferred the techy detail on the chest. I guess I can always switch their heads if it drives me crazy.
Obviously the big draw is Nightstalker and Stripes, so naturally it's Stripes we don't get a good look at here. Still, tapes tapes tapes. |

I have a hard time figuring out why I've never been fond of the Twincast deco. It's weird for me because I love Blaster and Blue and grey are usually two of my favorite colors on TFs. I think it's something about how the bright yellow and red don't fit with blue and grey well. He makes me think of McDonalds for some reason. I don't know... -ZacWilliam, an well, he makes a nice accessory for Nightstalker and Stripes I guess, who are the real reason to want the set... -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

I don't want this enough to buy it, but there's no denying that this looks like a Twincast done right. It's such a shame that no modern toy has ever really been able to nail the integrated partner gimmick better than these 30-year-old molds. Of course, there's partly because the tape/deck dynamic has never been replaced by anything as workable for a toy.

I'm surprised you didn't pick up this detail, Randy. And sorry to disappoint, but Encore Soundblaster still got the red chest. I just really hope we get to see the last 8 cassettes brought back to life in an official release. I am lucky enough to own them thanks to KOToys but I'd still happily buy official releases.
Does anyone know if anybody repro's the weapons on these buggers? I know that chrome won't last forever...I'd like to have some back up weapons, but that's expensive to go the real route. edit - Damn! Was really hoping for the purple chest on Soundblaster...just looks sharper. Oh well, I understand the decision since the cassettes still have those stickers. Glad to see Wingthing got painted eyes and they didn't over-homage the Action Master. The faces are a nice touch tho... Not sure on Twincast. Trying to resist!!!!!! It doesn't matter, but Wingthing should have had a black painted head with silver eyes. But an orange head with black eyes isn't a big deal.
