The original comic had both Japanese and English, but I edited the scans to have just English and in bigger font (so it's easier to read).

I'm surprised to see them follow the whole Rodimus never being comfortable as a Prime thing so faithfully. I was under the impression the Japanese had their own interpretation of most of the characters.

Thanks again for this Hydra, it explains exactly how Black Rodimus came to be. That it was Rodimus' feelings of doubt, Starscream seizing an opportunity to try and get revenge by using the Clone Synthesizer to give Black Rodimus a body. It also explains how the Black Rodimus (not Convoy) was able to get the matrix from Rodimus Convoy (knowing that Hot Rod at full ramming speed was at least able to topple Galvatron twice). So Awesome!
Randy Edit: I'm glad to see my assumption was right that Rodimus Prime unknowingly created Black Rodimus (it seems to imply both emotionally as well as physically due to his dream like state). This post has been edited by Powered Convoy: Feb 19 2012, 08:52 PM -------------------- ![]() |

I'm using this Black Rodimus Convoy in a completely different way.
To me he is the color scheme that Rodimus Prime becomes when he is possessed by Unicron in the Marvel U.K. stories Shadow of Evil / White Fire. He doesn't have a Decepticon insignia though. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Shadow_of_Evil |

Yup, this Rodimus was intended to be a different character than the G1 Dark Hot Rod, who had been created by Megatron.
This is more of a physical manifestation of Rodimus's insecurities, given a body by the clone synthesizer. Rodimus's difficulties grappling with the responsibilities of leadership have been a pretty prominent focus of the character in additional Japanese fiction, such as Macrocosmic Seekers: http://www.e-hobbymagazine.com/category/english/exstoryen This is also a great read, if you haven't seen it yet. -Hydra -------------------- |

Thanks again for the info Hydra. I know there was some question if the two Black Rodimus were the same character or not (particularly among the TFWiki people). Nice to have confirmation one way or another.
I would have thought they were different characters due to their different origins, existing before or after the events of the movie, and the fate of the 2001 guy. Randy -------------------- ![]() |
