Yeah, Sunstorm is a definite must!
And hope it includes accessories that blow the iGear one out of the water. Please don't just give us the cape and shoulder pads like Starscream. This post has been edited by Meister79: Feb 15 2012, 08:10 AM -------------------- |

I've got a pretty good G1 Sixshot and while I love Sunstorm I don't really need any more Masterpice figures.
But I recognize this as awesome news for those that need them. Good move, Takara. -------------------- ![]() |

This is awesome if true!
Most of these listings have been so far (barring the Alternity Banzai-Tron and Galvatron which no longer appear to be coming out). I would have sworn TakaraTomy would never release a Masterpiece Sunstorm, but times have changed in the last year and almost anything is possible for them at this point. He's also the best one to start off with after Starscream, considering his obscurity - people are less likely to buy him if they get the blue one and the black one before him (due to having spent the money on the mold 3 times already, the extraneous 4th is easier to skip by at that point). So any chance we can get an Acid Storm colored like the Bot Shot too? Sixshot is good news (and has been rumored to be getting a re-release for some time now - glad to see more official confirmation). I wonder how Sixshot will be different, considering the changes to every other Encore figure that's already been reissued (or even those that have not been reissued have been changed). Yeah, don't know what happened to Banzai-Tron and Galvatron. I would have liked to get them.
I'm enquiring about the estimated prices of Sunstorm and Sixshot. Sunstorm's price should be close to that of Starscream's though. -------------------- |

I hope these are not Asia market only and include Japan. I also wonder if Sunstorm would end up being an e-Hobby exclusive in Japan (like Black Rodimus Convoy) and a mass market release in Asia?
Anything else interesting on those listings Mesiter79? Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Sixshot is priced the same as MP Sunstorm. MP-11 Starscream had the same SRP. -------------------- |

Sixshot is pretty expensive then compared to the original reissue I believe then.
Also hopefully Sunstorm does indeed come with accessories (that are not the coronation ones) as it wouldn't be cool to charge as much for him as Starscream if he didn't. Though if he's an exclusive that wouldn't surprise me if they did. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Sixshot is priced the same as MP Sunstorm. MP-11 Starscream had the same SRP. Re-check. That's just plain wrong. There's no way Sixshot would cost twice the MSRP of its original reissue (5,000yen) even with inflation over the years, assuming the MSRP of MP Sunstorm is 10,000yen. MP-11 with the same MSRP as MP Sunstorm and Sixshot sounds wrong, too. HLJ has MP-11's MSRP listed at 13,000yen. The cape and crown is likely the reason why it's 3,000yen more than the previous MP seekers, and I highly doubt that Sunstorm comes with the cape and crown. I'm treating these as rumors for now. |

Kind of dumb to make an expensive masterpiece figure out of a character that appeared on screen for what, 2 seconds? How high in demand could this be?

Randy MP-03G costs the same on e-hobby as MP-03, yet some other exclusives cost more than their mass retail version, so I don't know how they determine when to charge more. |

Yeah, I'm asking the retailer I'm in contact with to confirm those. But those are the numbers he was provided with. Another Malaysian shop has listed an almost similar price, with a slight discount. http://www.toywizard.net/takaratomy-encore...eissue-sixshot/ http://www.toywizard.net/takaratomy-transf...p-11s-sunstorm/ Of course, Malaysian prices are more expensive due to shipping already calculated into the retail price. Our Hasbro Deluxe is $59.90 Malaysian each. This post has been edited by Meister79: Feb 15 2012, 10:26 AM -------------------- |

There was also an entire comic story arc dedicated to him. And he appears in a handful of Transformers Animated episodes. And he had an eHOBBY exclusive toy. And a reissue eHOBBY toy. And an OTFCC exclusive PVC. And a Transformers Universe toy. And a Titanium toy. And a Cybertron Legends toy. And an Animated toy... -------------------- |

I bought Sixshot for £50 from Forbidden Planet years ago, one of my all time favourite toys. Wish they'd do a Generations version.

Also there have been rumors circulating around that TakaraTomy is working on eliminating the desire for any of iGear's Masterpiece Knock-Offs. First they released a better version of Convoy, Starscream is due out in a couple of months, and a MP Sunstorm would follow that logic. As I imagine iGear's MP Sunstorm to be one of their more popular MP knock-off's (due to being a character TT has yet to do).
It would not surprise me in the least if this was an e-Hobby exclusive. Randy Edit: Also we live in a world where TakaraTomy released a toy of Wipe Out and will be releasing toys of Stripes, Wing Thing, Nightstalker, and Enemy in their mass release lines. Sunstorm is not nearly as obscure as any of them. This post has been edited by Powered Convoy: Feb 15 2012, 10:34 AM -------------------- ![]() |
