I know a lot of people think the 8 Generations molds mentioned at UK and USA Toy Fair has them thinking that it's simply Wave 1 and 2 of the Fall of Cybertron figures (and not something separate from Fall of Cybertron). Just to confirm that's not the case since we are getting more Fall of Cybertron figures.

From http://kotaku.com/5884233/bruticus-leads-t...-store-invasion

QUOTE
And he's only the beginning of what Jerry Jivoin, Hasbro's global brand marketing director for Transformers, said will be a much larger line than War for Cybertron. Will we see a toy of Autobot fan-favorite Dinobot, Grimlock? He wasn't ready to say, but Bruticus is too big a threat to leave unanswered.

The article features the stock photography of the figures as well as some in game shots of Bruticus, Onslaught (featuring his blue and green colors), Swindle, and Vortex (gray instead of tan, but lots of red).

These guys are coming out in the fall right?
So Hasbro might be counting everything after them as part of 2013's 40 Generations figures.

Ugh. I was really excited until the front page news about another TF movie in 2014. I reallize this is pessimistic, but with repeating trends, how many long-desired characters/molds will be canceled in the last couple waves because retailers are waiting for the new movie toys?

Some observations regarding the coloration issue: Bruticus' in game model matches up with the original promo pics of the toys we saw (and that are shown again with this article). And Vortex has a red head in game just like in the pics, although his predominant color is different for his bot mode screenshot vs the combined one.
And Onslaught's bot mode looks a lot like what the figure shown at Toy Fair looked like (lots of blue and neon green)... but that won't work for Bruticus (who is gray with a lil' green...)

So... this article and pics didn't really help clear up too much color-wise, did it? Lol.
Although I personally think that the more subdues scheme we were shown matches up better (minus Onslaught's bot mode) so I hope Hasbro meant they were going with something like it when they said the final figures will look "more like they do in the game."

I'm sure we'll know for sure by the time they come out. ( > ~ < )
Ha.

I don't think a movie in 2014 can cancel toys in 2013. If they were coming out in 2014, then I'd see a worry.

Of course, the 2013 toys will be canceled, just not by the movie. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif)

-ZacWilliam, has wanted a Pretendeer Shell shirt like that for a while and lacks the knowledge/skill to make one up himself. But I'm not a Metalhawk fan. Give me a US Pretender!

For some reason the "Bruticus is too big a threat to go unanswered" says to me Autobot combiner.

Dear lord I promise... um... something pleasing to you if I can have a new Sky Dive that looks decently close to the G1 design and colors.

PS Lord - Lightspeed would also be acceptable.

PPS Lord - Not Devestator, he's really overdone. But any other G1 team is pretty cool.

-ZacWilliam, feels the engineering design work to make a modern Scramble City bot this good kinda demands at least a second use...

Thematically, Defensor is a decent opponent to Bruticus.

Hey guys, remember when Kotaku linked to our board about that War for Cybertron reveal and it totally crashed us out?

Good times.

I still think it will be dinobots.

1) His answer came right after Grimlock was asked about
2) In the FOC video game, the counterweight to the combaticons is the dinobots.

3) I really want to believe dinobots are coming.

Swindle could make a passable First Aid, Vortex = Blades, Onslaught = Hot Spot.

Then you'd just need two new molds for Grooves and Streetwise.

Good lord can we stop with the terrible remold ideas already. If there is to be an Autobot combiner and it isn't an entirely new mold, I won't even think twice before skipping. Not even remotely worth my money, especially in a line like Generations.

There is a reason that 3rd party Bruticus kit exists as well as Hercules, despite there being "official" versions of both of those.

It'll be answered by combining Dinobots.

Except they combine into a giant Dinosaur.

Limbs that can be hands or feet. Named for the animated special that heavily featured a number of G1 Combiners. In G1 it's specifically Defensor, Bruticus, Superion, Menasor, Abominus, Computron, and Piranacon, who all had limbs that were interchangeable across all sets.

Energon Maximus combiners are considered Scramble City style because they could do the same thing.
