I know they're going for the Ditko look, but isn't the Ditko Lizard usually clothed? Typically the "naked" Lizard is depicted with a snout, and there's kind of a reason for that... the human-shaped head is a huge contrast to the rest of his body, to the point where it might be distracting if the execution isn't right.

I kinda wished they would have a transformation from the Ditko Faced Lizard with Tattered Clothes, to Naked Lizard with a Snout (which he had in the Comic-Con footage), but it seems like they aren't going in that direction.

I just look at the design and see Dinosaur Neil from The Tick.

I saw the action figure of Lizard that was displayed in the Toy Fair. Really, naked? Someone's going to jinx this and cause Rule 34 to take effect.

Seriously. The Green Goblin outfit from the first movie has nothing on this foolishness.

What's hysterical is on SciFi, there's a show called "Face Off" - a Movie Makeup Contest show. One of the Judges is heralded as having worked on this summer's The Amazing Spider-Man. That means she likely worked on this Lizard design.

I'm sorry. I can't take her opinions on that show seriously any more after seeing that.

The lizard's face is tragic, as I love how the lizard really was a giant lizard in a lab coat, but what you gonna do? He's a ridiculous guy no matter how you role it.

I would have preferred the traditional ridiculous, over this, but I'm not really devastated.

I've got over 500 issues of The Amazing Spider-Man as far back (maybe further) as The Black Cat's first appearance. He most certainly had to ditch the mask at times. In the 90s his mask was often hanging half off his face. One of the worst tropes EVER is a bad guy catching a masked hero and leaving his mask on... and yet all through the 60s, 70s and 80s it was common place in cartoons and comics. Ugh...

They have the right supporting cast, they've given Peter is appropriate skills and the Lizard is a Spider-Man hall of famer. This is going to be a good Spider-Man movie, period.

I don't share your optimism.

One of the tings that was outright HORIBLE about the previous films was just how much his mask was off. The first film was fine with it but the second and especially the third were just ridiculous about that mask coming off every chance they got. Even if it's just a small part of the movie showing it in the trailers is a good way to scare off the people that got sick of it the first time around. If you aren't one of those people then more power to you but a LOT of people feel as I do.

Also the Lizard is not a villain deserving of an entire movie to himself. He's sub plot material when it comes to a hollywood movie. Sure he could float several issues of a comic but this isn't a comic.

God, I hope it's a good film in the end because lord knows Sony isn't gonna let go of the license. If we're stuck with them making these things then at lest let them be awesome. I just don't think it will be.

Wow.

Such a powerful, emotion filled scene.

I can hardly contain my excitement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-kup.gif)

But in all seriousness, I get this is just a "taste" of things but wow. If those kinds of scenes are what we've got to look forward to in the "down time" of the movie, then it's going to put half the audience to sleep. The acting for both Parker and the Doorman fall completely flat, and I dunno what gets me more. That a wise cracking super hero can be put at a loss for words by a simple doorman (And seriously, where does the manual door opener get off judging Parker that way?), or DAT HAIR.

Yup, like you said Rust.

Parker grew up in NYC, he should know what a doorman does (have him call Gwen and ring him in). And he's being really suspicious and conspicuous about hiding his spidey-suit! I never really liked Maguire as Parker or Spidey, but Garfield seems woefully miscast here.

This is for the video game based on this movie. Playable Stan Lee is awsome.

That certainly is a very nice Batman trailer they have there. Shame they got the suit so wrong.
