For a film I thought was going to be completely redundant, I enjoyed that trailer a lot.

Looked neat!

Never change.

Well, to be honest, I wasn't expecting much at all from this film, as I felt it was way too soon to reboot the franchise. Yet the trailer surprised and impressed me. It actually made me want to see this film. Denis Leary playing a semi-serious role is quite a nice surprise, as is Gwen Stacy, which Emma Stone looks so perfect in the role to me. I didn't mind the organic web shooters in the last series of films, but these webshooters look awesome! having Peter being focused on science this time could be really cool, and I am hoping that it plays well into the story. Speaking of which, The Lizard! Finally! I can't wait to see how they portray him! It looked like from the trailer that he is more underhanded as Dr Connors, and isn't just a villain when he's the Lizard. I'll be interested in seeing how that works out.

Really, the only thing that could make this movie better for me is if at the end, Shield/Avengers show up and take the Lizard into custody. I think that this could be a neat Spiderman to have in the Marvel Movieverse.

This film went from Pass, to definitely watch. Whether or not I will see it in the theaters or wait for the Blu-ray and watch it on my 131" projection screen, I have not yet decided.

TL:DR Looked neat!

I think it looks ok, but is it really giving us anything the old movies never had?
I still don't think they've got Peter Parker right. I agree about the mask off stuff being bad. I actually prefer the organic web shooters idea, I prefer Spiderman's signiture ability to be a power rather than something he's made himself.

I like that Spider-Man is suitably scrawny, and actually crackin' wise at criminals.

It looks like Spider-Man by way of Kick Ass.

I'm not liking it. As others have said, it feels way to inspired by the likes of Batman Begins. Plus this doesn't strike me as a Peter who wisecracks to deal with the stress of fighting crime but a smart ass who got super powers and took it in stride. It doesn't look like a bad movie, just not a Spider-Man movie.

The best thing about this trailer, is what they left out from the last one: F.P.S.

First Person Spidey

It looked like a bad cutscene from a videogame.

Hopefully they either improved it, or got rid of it altogether.

Man, that thing was all over the place.

I do wonder how the Uncle Ben story is going to play out this time around. They can't possibly be thinking of rehashing the "Peter becomes a callous celebrity" story again so soon. Seeing as how Peter blames himself for the Lizard's creation, I wonder if Ben ends up as gator chow?

The problem comes in that it takes away from the character. He didn't get ALL of his Spider Powers from the bite so, being the super smart guy he is, he made one up for himself.

Making it just another power takes away that intelligence and ingenuity.

My problem is that no matter how good this movie is, I'll be distracted the whole time thinking about how much better and cooler this would/could be if it was in the Marvel movie verse. That said, it doesn't look great.

That really is an issue, even though it's not this movie's fault.

The same year that we're getting the culmination of a cinematic superhero universe built on 5 previous movies, we're also getting...a Spider-Man reboot. Fair or not, it's tough to build up the same amount of enthusiasm.

Yeah, pretty 'ugh'. The Lizard has a too human-like face, he looks more like Killer Croc. I like Spidey's costume, but the actor is just not how I imagine Peter Parker. And I really don't care for the whole darker tone - Spiderman fighting cops and the military? Getting unmasked? Really? He is not friggin' Batman...

The female lead is attractive, but that's all the positives so far.

Personally I look at it the same way I see the DC direct to DVD/Blu Ray movies. In where they are stand alone series. Sure the reboot sucks, but whatever... this movie isn't going to affect my life in anyway.

THAT'S why it's bugging me so much. Well that and it just doesn't look like the Lizard at all to me but yeah, Croc with a tail.

I would even like that model as Killer Croc for a Batman movie (in some comics, he does have a tail) but for the Lizard, it adds to his inhuman-ness that he has a long snout AND yet he talks and acts like a human. (Which I wonder if this version will even do...)

That, and I do hope we at least have one scene where he is still wearing a tattered lab coat with a 'Dr. Connors' nametag.

Any word on whether Norman Osborn is in this one, and who plays him? Since the Oscorp building was shown...

Will watch this at the cinemas, because I am a sucker for comic book movies (only one I did not watch in theaters was The Spirit) but I don't have high expectations. The darker tone is especially a poor choice for a movie that comes out the same year as Dark Knight Rises.
