BBTS Valentine's Day Sale, Darkside Optimus Prime & Megatron Options

Hey everyone,

Looks like BBTS has a sale going with a handful of TF items marked down. It's the usual suspects on the list, but the Darkside Optimus Prime & Darkside Megatron set is now down to $59.00. I still have yet to jump on this set as it has not been on my top priority list for collecting, but is the current price a really good one for it? I don't seem to recall how much they actually went for at the toy show they were released at, but the price now is approx equal to two regularly imported United deluxes.

The set does look cool enough, but judging how long they've been sitting on these and the quantity they have in stock, it doesn't seem like the fandom took to them all that much. Regardless, I'm still considering owning them, but I was looking to get feedback/opinions on the current price before I jumped on this sale offering.

I picked mine up when they had it as part of the Black Friday sale for $58.

Actual retail price was ¥5000, so at today's rate: 5,000.00 JPY = 65.2656 USD

Even a better deal considering what the shipping would have been initially from Japan, coupled with BBTS' Pile of Loot ability (if you've got one), etc.

I'd say go for it...plus, IMHO, they're very nice-looking repaints. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

Yeah, I got mine at the Black Friday sale too. Did not regret it one bit. Pictures just don't do this set justice. It is extremely pretty.

Me too. I basically bought it for Megatron, but when I got Optimus in hand, he was also impressively pretty. Pictures don't quite make out exactly how sparkly his black plastic is- it's almost like a silvery sheen. And he looks like Batman.

Darnit, when I read Darkside Megatron, the pre-Beast Wars Botcon toy came to mind!

Here I thought it was the japanese release of the war for cybertron pack I finally saw at toys r us today, sans the pale bumblebee. Those don't look half bad, but I really need to curb my spending a bit.

Yeah, I was AGOG at that purple when I got the toy. So gorgeous. I was like..."How did they DO that...?" It just jumps out at you.
