See, this is why we need the $15 Mega price point back, for Combiner core figures and beefier-than-deluxe figures. Yeah but what price point would it sell at, considering Deluxes are now in the $12 to $16 range and Voyagers from $20 to $24? Randy -------------------- ![]() |

In Europe, double those prices and then you get your average Deluxe/Voyager price. It's no coincidence that Legends and Cyberverse sells out the fastest. Vortex makes me think of the Micromaster Helicopter Base. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:SkyhopperToy.jpg Yeah, more red less purple, but the tan is enough to suggest it to my mind. -ZacWilliam, I'd love it if Takara did them all, especially Vortex, in more G1 colors, BUT the colors here a fine too and won't deter me even slightly from picking up this awesomeness the second it is available. I will buy them too, apart from lack of blue on Vortex I am fine with the colors - and if that's the production color, I'll just repaint him myself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) And you are right, he does resemble Skyhopper's copter a bit in shape. My one complaint about Blast Off is that he just has way too many tail fins. Counting the ones on his guns, he's got seven. That's insane. That's the best thing about him! Seriously, Blast Off is only one of these I really want, and his crazy over abundance of tailfins is pretty much the reason why. And in-game, his tailfins on his shoulders will be constantly waving. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) At this point I am sure we will get to play as all five Combaticons AND Bruticus in the game, since we haven't heard of many other new Cons save for Shockwave. They nicely fit the WFC categories - 2 fliers, a Soldier, a Leader and a Scout. I wonder what Swindle's speciality would be... selling weapons to the Autobots that explode when they try to shoot him with? Voyagers aren't even possible for Generations' current model, so I'd expect some trade offs. The venn diagram between people who are saying Voyagers aren't possible for Generations and those who were saying a month ago that combiners weren't possible for Generations looks like a perfect circle. A month ago it hadn't really occurred to anyone to have an all-deluxe Combiner. The line is still all deluxe case assortments, and we've had no evidence to the contrary. -------------------- ![]() |

Looking at that shot of Bruticus again, the rather large combiner pegs look sort-of similar to each other - which has me wondering: perhaps FoC Bruticus will be able to Scramble his limb components, much like the G1 and Energon combiners? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-op.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-op.gif) I really, really doubt it. Each limb would have to hide two separate fists somewhere in it. And I see evidence against that, not for it. -------------------- |

Y'know I was just thinking, it seems the toy is really intended to hold a static pose. Simalir to whatever he has in the concept art there...
And, that got me to thinking. Maybe Bruticus is the Devastator of today. I mean before they just came up with a more standardized way that combiners should combine that allowed poseability and durability as well. Im kind of thinking, that if we get another combiner after this guy... I wouldn't be surprised if we got slightly smaller deluxes that were designed with more swievels instead. And more ratcheting joints. I mean, when you think of it. If they were all each as big as classics bumblebee and most of that money was put more into the jointing. It may risk classics Galvatron style problems. But it may also mean nearly basic sized limbs that are a slight bigger. With really good poseability for the combined mode. And really secure jointing... And, I wonder if this Bruticus is sort of an experiment and if it'll get better from here. Maybe us seeing much better combining deluxes in the future. I still stand by the idea that Blastoff has a swieval joing right underneath a piece of space on his upper chest. I still think that part can turn and allow the legs to move upwards in a sideways position. Which allows that punch in the gut sort of pose. QUOTE They're beautiful even when mistransformed and mis-merged. Toy Fair will show us Onslaught's proper torso and vehicle modes and then we all just settle in for 5 months of masturwaiting. I sort of have a problem with this. I think their great figures and I agree that Onslaught must have some mistransformation. But seriously a lot of what we see in the vehicle mode seems to really be. All that you see here. Yes, im certain that the back part of the armored vehicle is attached wrongly. That theres also a piece there thats supposed to raise up and cover some area. And, Im kind of hoping that he does have some sort of flexibility in how the cannon is perched on the top. But that said it's very clear they butchered the vehicle mode. And, im not putting it down for that. But, I see a lot of clear, that is the way the toy will really look. Other than maybe one or two small things. Now with the combined mode. I think what makes it look bad is the thighs seem sort of mistransformed. Or at least it seems like theres a range with how the thighs can be posed. And if you put the parts that seem to be Onslaught's upper thighs more inwards. Towards where Bruticus' underwear/groin is. Then Onslaught's lower legs would look much more proper as Bruticus thighs. That said I think some of the arm kibble could be hidden on the upper parts of the chest. And the arms both vortex and Blastoff seem to have much more poseable range. But if you look carefully you can sort of figure it out. The only other thing that would make it look better other than fixing how the thighs are transformed and how the arms are transformed. Is whether you can raise those wheels with the connector joints a bit. So the arms seem propped a bit higher. Instead of hanging so low. But, mind It's absolutely hard to tell how much you can prop those arm connectors wheels upwards at an angle. It seems like maybe the connector itself has a joint. But maybe im wrong on that. But some of what is transformed wrong is kind of evident. Push Onslaught's legs back a bit on the upper parts. And they hide behind Bruticus' groin a lot better. And Blastoffs arm definately has some range to alllow it to turn and have the fist point upwards. With an elbow. Also Brawl's is mistransformed in the leg mode. The turret is upside down. If you notice. The upper part of the turret is really the foot. That piece that they mistakingly transformed into the foot, that looks really ugly. Is not the actually foot. The turret needs to be swivelled into the opposite direction. With the right foot piece aiming down. The part being used for the foot. Is really an piece that folds out to cover the exposure of that purple knee joint. So in other words Brawl is clearly mistransformed there in foot mode! Looks like I might be wrong about Brawl being Mistransformed.
But the leg is odd to me. The turret clearly turns. And that butt piece that covers the knee connector. Looks a lot more like the arts feet than the tab that comes out of the cannon does. So Im curious. -------------------- .

That Bruticus looks flimsy. He looks like his arms are about to fall off. Vehicle modes are OK, but the robot modes seem similarly flimsy. -------------------- Me Love Grimlock Superdeformed Dinobot Fun

As long as it doesn't tip over, this thing is so bought
-------------------- When you find yourself standing on the brink of surrender, know that many in the past faced trials such as your own, but overcame them with their great conviction. No matter the greatness of your desperation, the failures of your efforts, or the injustice of your treatment, at least a few men have stared into the same challenges and emerged victorious from these tests. Such men are not only a great source of inspiration, but also the very foundation upon which modern society rests. From lyric booklet of 'Starfall' by Dragonland The mind. It boggles.
