Oh yes, I will need the Vehicon. Arcee looks quite nice, too.

Yeah, I might like this Arcee just slightly more. I wonder if she's a little smaller due to that huge gun, or if some of the pieces are recycled and she's about the same. I hope all those silver parts are actually going to be pink. I've always really liked that they kept the pink in her color scheme.

Yeah while the legs look similar they're entirely new.

This new one definitely looks happier or perhaps more cartoony.

Wow, that's the first RID figure that actually looks better than the FE.

I thought most people generally like RiD Vehicon better than FE Vehicon as well?

Oh yeah, forgot about him.

I don't know that I dig the fake chest, even if it does look more show-accurate than vehicle kibble. The only thing that felt inherently "wrong" about FE Arcee was her height.

I haven't opened my FE Arcee yet, so I'm unaware of most of its flaws, but the size alone is reason enough to try this one out if she's shorter.

I'm assuming the blade can come off that ridiculous gun and peg into that hole on her arm. Otherwise, I'll just hold off for the Takara version.

I have to confess that since I won't be collecting any TF Prime toys, I didn't pay much attention to what the First Edition toys are in relation to the pending waves of toys slated to hit mass distribution. Are they entirely unique molds between the two releases, or are the FE toys just getting remolded for the mainline series? Just curious what Hasbro's angle was by doing this since this is really a new direction from all of their previous toylines.

Yes, so far the FE molds are all unique, except for the Cliffjumper/Zombie Cliffjumper. But since no one has seen Zombie Cliff it's a moot point.

I like how this looks, but as I already have FE Arcee I'll be skipping it. Maybe with a new colour scheme and head I might pick it up.

My understanding is the First Edition stuff wasn't supposed to be Prime releases, it was supposed to be released in Generations like the WFC figures, but for some reason they decided to scrap those plans and release the molds as TRU exclusives, and bill them as early mainline figures.

The RID stuff was originally going to be the only mainline, and it's all different molds, no shared parts or retools or anything, without any shared parts, though apparently the First Edition versions of Bumblebee and Screamer are going to be reissued in a 2-pack.

As for their "angle," it feels to me like the difference between the ROTF and DOTM lines: The First Edition stuff was aiming for animation-model accuracy above all else, where the RID stuff is less accurate in the name of simplicity and playability (i.e. huge mechtech-ish guns, light up gimmicks, etc.)

Anyway, I want to see this Arcee scaled next to the rest of the figures. I wasn't planning on getting her at all (love the character, but limiting purchases), but if she's small enough to fit in with the rest of the cast, I may grab her and just chuck the huge weapon in a bin.

Yeah, me too. I'm not stickling for show-accuracy for Prime (it's cheaper/easier for me to just visualize the DotM molds in place of Bumblebee and Optimus), so I think I'll stick with the FE version. It just looks more authentic than the fake kibble, and the shoulder-wings don't bug me, since I'm a Gundam fan anyway.

New Arcee looks nice. I'll get her, I think.

While getting the kibble off her shoulders is nice, I don't like the way it looks where it is now. It looks like kibble, with all the backside of the panel that doesn't fit with the surfacing of the rest of her.

That gun is stupidly big for her... but might be perfect for Prime. Hmmmm. One more reason to get this figure (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

Arcee doesn't seem to really be worse, but I'm not sure that she's better, either. I like the gun (especially for Chromia, which is who this toy would be in my collection), but it's really big. Also, it'll look weird in bike mode with only one blade panel, especially with it apparently having no blue. Not that the bike looks bad without the blades, but I'm not going to just leave the weapons to the side.

Best thing is 5mm hands.

That gun clearly seems to have both a 5mm peg and a wrist slot. Definately seems like it's a weapon thats meant to be cross compatible with voyagers and other toys. Considering the wrist slot. This guy may look very good with the WFC/FOC guys. Whose arms go into the gun within the game.

It looks like it's got two grips. The one in the back is for her tiny girly hands, and a standard 5mm peg for everyone else (and likely for mounting on the side of motorcycle mode).

Thanks XD Every time a new figure comes out, one of the first thoughts that cross my mind is 'who else can use the weapon?'

Many of my figures have had their weapons switched around or otherwise replaced. Specialist Ratchet has WFC Prime's gun while Prime gets Specialist Ratchet's Mechtech gun and DotM Pinpointer, Generations Wheeljack swiped Jazz's gun, because Jazz stole Universe Cyclonus' Targetmaster. Generations Scourge got a third party Targetmaster so Kup gets the pistol (sans the clip on bit) so he can dual wield like the badaft he is, and so on and so on.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif) Which one is it, Optimus?
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-op.gif) It's the one that says "Badass Mother Trucker" on the side.

You know what I wonder?

If they didn't deliberately give her that huge gun as a cost-of-materials-sink so they could make the core figure smaller, i.e. in scale with the rest of the line for show accuracy, and still make her theoretically worth the Deluxe price point.

If so, that's kind of a clever idea. Like taking that whole Mechtech-making-the-DOTM-figures-smaller issue and bending it to work for them.
