So, I was at a toy store at one of the local malls earlier today, hoping that maybe they had some RTS Laser Optimus Primes left, and maybe-- just maybe-- they would be on sale.

Well, they had them, and they were... sort of.

Before Christmas, I remember them being $19.99 each-- a bit jacked up, considering Perceptor and others from the same waves and/or size class were cheaper, like around $12-$13 bucks.

And today, they were... $19.99. But on sale from $29.99, which I don't remember being the case before. I could be wrong, but I really don't remember any red "sale" stickers or other prices before Christmas, just "$19.99."

The whole thing disgusted me so much that I just left without.

I just can't believe they are charging that much for them! Sure, years ago when the exchange rate was 35-45% I understand, but still? I passed it up at $9.99 a few months ago.

Check your GPS device. Make sure your local mall or the toy store isn't phase shifted with an Australian one.

I would've bought one. When they stopped showing up around here, I didn't know yet that I would need one for the Battle Tanker armor.

19.99$? Was it a Zellers?

The 29.99$ was probably a mistake in the system, you should go back & make a fuss about it at costumer service they might lower it to the actual price & give you an additional discount on top of that.

Could be possible that the sticker was put up there to make folks who didn't know any better think it was a big sale deal.

Usually the small print will imply that the item has been sold at that price for x number of days in other stores.

Though... sold is probably a tad optimistic. Shelf-warmed is probably closer to the truth.

Given that I live in the UK and I've never actually seen a laser Optimus on the pegs, I have to say my sympathy is strained.

Wilkinsons had him. I picked one up from there along with Perceptor and Wreck-Gar. The one or two they had left did not stay around long in my local store.

I'm pretty sure Kay-Bee got in big trouble for pulling crap like that.

Let me guess, you were at the TOYS TOYS TOYS in Vaughan Mills Mall weren't you? I saw that RTS Op there too and also refused to pay that price for it.

They problem with TTT is that they often price by character rather than by size assortment. Cuz on the same shelf right next to Prime were the other RTS deluxes all at $16.99, "on sale".

But it's all good, cuz that's where I picked up my Animated Jetfire/Jetstorm 2 pack after Xmas. That's the beauty of TOYS TOYS TOYS, they grossly overprice their stuff when it's new so you can pass it up and get it "on sale" at what would be regular retail price 3-4 years later if you missed it!
