Saw the rest of the snakemen Ninjago at Walmart today, the giant $15 motorcycle and the $25 jet. Yyyyeah. Not even pretending to be pseudo-feudal anymore, are they? ---Dave I told Boomslang "They've jumped the shark with the Blue Angels vs the Bat tmbler!" Next year's advent calendar looks even better!
http://jediinsider.com/images.php?mode=alb...&sl=8|13961 Snowtrooper, Rebel Trooper, Super Battle Droid, Tarpals! Micro vehicle AT-AT! Santa Darth Maul! As for the other sets, the Jabba set looks awesome. And the Sarlaac set... I was expecting to be bigger for some reason. -------------------- |

The mouse droid was perfection. Ditto for the TIE fighter. I love how minimalist they are.

Walmart has the advent calendars on clearance for $19.90 most places.
Today's weird discovery: Dragons Universe blind-bag figures at ShopKo, in their stocking stuffer section on clearance for $3.20 down from a what-the-hug price of $8 (they also had Marvel and Halo minifigs for $3.20 down from $8). Not the armored romanesque guys...these are minifig DRAGONS. I'll post pics later if no one has a link handy. These come with cards for some sort of game, although given the history of Mega Blok figure games I don't expect there to be a full game set any time soon. ---Dave --------------------

I got both the HQ and the Jet Copter for Christmas. Love 'em both, but especially the HQ. It's such a big, solid vehicle. Great minifigs, though as always I wish it had more. Cool sub vehicles, especially the VIC VIPER.

Okay, here's pics. Out of six packs, I got one rare and four different commons. Here's the one I got doubles of, in assembled and disassembled form (they come disassembled):
(IMG:http://www.dvandom.com/images/predavore1.JPG) The game card implies a game in which you lay down cards with arrows touching, and somehow pick one of the three colors to compare for battle. There's blue and red factions, four dragons each, although the ultra-rare of the set is only found in the red faction. Here's the five figures I got. There seem to be two different torso molds, three different tail molds, two different molds for each limb. Every figure has a unique head and wings. Most of mine have the leg mold that requires a quadrupedal stance, but the black one (Fierce Orzus) can rear up and stay balanced. (IMG:http://www.dvandom.com/images/predavore2.JPG) Finally, the rare I got (Crush Jin) was made of clear plastic. Fierce Orzus has a smoky clear torso but is otherwise opaque, and the other commons are all opaque (and Pulse Gaia has a poor match between the two yellows). Is there another (non-license) sci-fi theme replacing the Alien Conquest sets?
Also, Salacious Crumb and Oola? Yes please! This post has been edited by Nanite: Dec 27 2011, 08:19 PM -------------------- |

It's also in continuity with Alien Conquest.
Atlantis, Pharaoh's Quest, Alien Conquest, and Dino are all part of some crazy continuity together. It's all unified in a comic from one of the Lego Club Magazines. -------------------- QUOTE I'm bad at puns and not much good at anything else! |

Well, wal-mart apparently is running 50% off their Lego sets! I saw that they had some Lego Harry Potter stuff on sale as well as one of the Kingdoms sets that I already have. However, I just picked up a $10 Kingdoms set that I haven't got yet, not marked off or even int he clearance section, and it rang up as $5!
I also picked up a Harry Potter Lego stocking stuffer from Target too. -------------------- |

So... sears was selling kits two for the price of one... so I splurged on a megablocks banshee and mongoose: I want this out of the way right now. I am a life long lego boy. I like the blind pack mini figs and I enjoy halo model designs (game play is something for somewhere else.) and concepts. So this wasn't a hard choice for me.
That said: I found construction to be alternatively too tight or too loose. It lacked the mass produced consistency of lego bricks. However, the completed pieces themselves feel solid when done, are nicely detailed and designed. If I actually HAD the space for another large scaled collection, I would throw myself into the halo megablocks kits. I also inbided in some more of the blind pack figs. Why? The series 3 halo stuff was on sale at walmart. I managed to nail two orange spartans, copper grunts and a yellow elite. I wish they would pack in more weapon variety, the brute shot is WAY too common and almost everyone has one now. I also question their use of the word "Rare" to define case ratio's as I've bought two batches and pulled two rares. Whatever, I mean, cool. But someone needs a dictionary. All in all, pretty happy with the results. Gonna use the figures to stage a battle on my brothers model of the queen annes revenge... when he's not home.
