I just finished All Hail Megatron and loved Roadbuster in this. He was awesome and I loved how he wanted to name the cannon taken off their starship. The scene with Kup leading them down a corridor which he entirely filled and was scraping the sided was terrific. I hope we get to see more of him in RiD and MtMtE.

That's it. I am hoping others want to see him, Kup and the Wreckers in the new IDW titles rolling out and the IDW creators share that interest too.

I was expecting this thread to be about DOTM Roadbuster, who in my head is a classic gaming aficionado who was mildly disappointed to discover that Samus is just some human in a suit.

I didn't think being a large hulking robot fit Roadbuster's character.

Yeah, I always liked the sort of "super-soldier" proportions he had when Figueroa was drawing him.

Yeah, I always liked the sort of "super-soldier" proportions he had when Figueroa was drawing him.

Not me, I was never impressed with Figueroa. His Roadbuster was non-descript in that he was similar to a dozen decepticon heavy-hitters except for color-scheme and Autobot symbol.

Now he really does stand a part in away that makes him seem like the strongman in a elite unite that would be the large weapon or heavy demolitions guy.

Bulkhead-derivative Roadbuster can't pull off scenes like this.

But he looks like like a hulking brute of a robot there that lacks intelligence. When in actuality, he is an intelligent natural leader - charismatic and inspirational.

Wildwade's image is still the one that portrays this well, but yours does not. Even if you didn't know his bio, you'd have to think that your preferred representation of Roadbuster has low intelligence and low rank.

Grimlock is also supposed to be intelligent natural leader, but he's also a hulking brute that towers over most everyone in how he looks a lot of the time.

Excellent analogy. All the Wreckers are tried and trued warriors and he can still be the way he now is and still be the leader that Grimlock is. Heck the Hulk himself of recent years is both "Hulking" and yet deadly cunning at the same time.

I'd rather Roadbuster be a one-man army over a giant damage sponge.

And he can't be both? Heavily armored one-many army, that can take whatever the Decepticons dish out and then return it in spades?

I guess I'm articulating it poorly. To use a comic example...

I see Roadbuster as more of a Cable-type. He's tall, not wide.

I'm fine with giant wall of robot Roadbuster and his love of named giant cannons. It's the version I'm more familiar with and it adds to his whole well suited to be a heavy hitting soldier personality.

I like Giantbuster, but at the same time the idea of Roadbuster 117 appeals to the Halo fan in me.
