You're right Cat. The DST website confirms it. I'm pretty sure I'm the one who made the error in the first place so (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-wildride.gif) and I fixed it. Cheers mate. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) |

Page, Teeth.
QUOTE Transformer mouths had no interior detail in the original cartoon. Counter point, (IMG:http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/939/ironhideteeth.jpg) Question, how often did this style get drawn? I want to know if it was uncommon, or if Heavy Metal War was a one time thing. -------------------- |

That Ironhide isn't exactly what I'd call "on-model."

Short of Akom tracing, things rarely were...
But in all seriousness, that's why I brought it up. I only have the Season 1 DVD and just wanted to confirm if it was a one time flub or something that happened now and again. -------------------- |

That's the only time I've ever seen them drawn with teeth to my memory. That they're not painted like teeth kind of proves they're not intended to be there.

Heavy Metal War has a weird thing with teeth. At one point we even get a rather more detailed shot of Spike's teeth and gums than usual as well.

I want to know if it was uncommon, or if Heavy Metal War was a one time thing. In Ultimate Doom Part 3, when Brawn gets shot, in the following close up of his face you can see teeth and tongue. (IMG:http://www.dodaj.rs/f/3F/Kf/2W9lWTdc/brawn-teeth.jpg) And in Heavy Metal War, I think even Megatron was drawn with teeth and tongue when he was shocked by the giant Autobot hologram. But as Walky pointed out, it's very unlikely that those were supposed to be drawn at all. Heavy Metal War has a weird thing with teeth. At one point we even get a rather more detailed shot of Spike's teeth and gums than usual as well. That was redrawn for the broadcast version. Did up two articles on DOTM merchandise:
DOTM-themed Ring Pop candy DOTM Jumbo Coloring & Activity Book by Bendon. I've been meaning to do the former for a few months now, but every time I sat down to do it I kept getting sidetracked or interrupted. -------------------- Lexicon: still up and running!

And in Heavy Metal War, I think even Megatron was drawn with teeth and tongue when he was shocked by the giant Autobot hologram. It's also probably worth noting that both episodes were clearly handled by the same team of animators at Toei, so this slip up seems to have been restricted only when these guys animated any episodes. I think teeth first started cropping up in Masterforce; Toei certainly changed their animation style to include for them by Victory. |

Huh. Just noticed there's an Optimus Prime bust missing from the DST section.
It's of just his head, neck, the base is the top of his torso/shoulders. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m80/KJ_81/IMAG0175.jpg It's the one on the left in this photo (the flash completely missed the white writing that says his name on the front) |

If you can PM me the info (date of release, sculptor, etc) I'll add it in.
I just bought the regular busts, none of the head ones. -------------------- ![]() |

Today IDW released a promo book called Dark Secrets of Infestation 2, this year's equivalent to Classified Secrets of Infestation. There's no Transformers text story this time, but there's a four page comic story. It's unclear if it's just a preview of Infestation 2 #1 or an exclusive story for this freebie, and HoS Optimus appears in one panel. Is it worth its own page, especially if it turns out the story pages are actually from an issue that'll have its own page later?

If a Transformer appears in it, it's worthy of inclusion.

That reminds me, we still need an article on the Hasbro NYCC comic. (Does anybody here actually have a copy?)

And the NYCC set is still going for $30 because it's still in stock at HTS. -------------------- |

I have a nice pdf of the whole thing cover to cover, but likely not gonna have any time soon to write it up proper.

Could there be an article about evolution of character designs? From early Diaclone/Microman designs to final animation model sheets. Or could there be a gallery of earlier designs for each characters bellow the trivia section (the missing designs would be filled with pics from first 4 TF issues as possible earlier designs)?
